New World Order Now Here?
The truth behind the conspiracy theory

Joseph Ferrara

Editor’s Note:  The following article was reproduced in The Remnant back in 1991, having first appeared in Catholic Newswire’s April 1991 edition.  With the subsequent rise of the fascist European Union and now the rumored North American Union, as well as One-world-friendly trade agreements that are stripping millions of Americans of their jobs through outsourcing, while our nation grows more dependent every day on foreign countries such as China for food and basic staples—it strikes us that Mr. Ferrara’s article is more relevant now than ever, especially since its central thesis—that national sovereignty must take a backseat to internationalism—has passed beyond the realm of what many dismissed as mere “conspiracy theory” mumbo-jumbo and on into actual international policy.  Looks to us as though George H.W. Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev knew very well of what they spoke when in the early 1990s they began using the term “New World Order” to describe what was coming. MJM

The apocalyptic turmoil and destruction resulting from the Persian Gulf War is being harnessed by self-styled Globalists to hasten the founding of a One-World government.  President Bush has given his personal endorsement of such a World Parliament by calling for the early formation of a New World Order.

The rationale for this age-old vision of a universal brotherhood is that true peace, and an end to incessant wars, can only be achieved by a central world government empowered with a military police force adequate to enforce the international peace.  On the face of it, such a solution contains a certain measure of plausibility. But a closer examination of this insidious proposal raises many questions that should give every freedom-loving American pause for great concern.

In the implementation of an omnipotent One-World government, what will happen to the sovereignty of each individual nation?   Will it be abrogated by fiat?  Will the Constitution of the U.S. cease to be the law of the land, overridden by the bureaucratic edicts and whims of a central world government?  How will the natural resources of each nation be allocated, and the productive wealth of that Nation?  Or will the productivity of individual nations be considered the communal property of the Global collective?  Will binding legislative power be shared with the butchers of Beijing and Moscow?  Will such a government as all governments are wont to do, fall under the despotic control of an oligarchy of elitists beyond accountability or recall?  And most importantly, will the Catholic Church be left free to carry on its mission of preaching the Gospel to all nations?  These are only some of the troubling questions raised by the imminent creation of a World Government.  A brief review of the historic roots of One-World government and the agenda of its advocates reveals with startling clarity what the Globalists are really after.

The spearhead for One-World government in the U.S. has been the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), which was incorporated in 1921 under the direction of Colonel Edward M. House, often referred to by historians as Pres. Woodrow Wilson’s alter ego.  Colonel House was a man driven by a Utopian vision of a world collective.  The corruption of the American Republic, and the major strides in the direction of one-world government, were the dominant features of Wilson’s domestic and foreign policies.  The CFR’s objective, as subsequent events would reveal, was the conception and establishment of an ascendant international World Order.  Space does not permit the convoluted history of the veiled workings of this organization.  It should be pointed out, however, that in 1954 the Reece Committee in its investigation of tax-free foundations said of the CFR that “its productions are not objective but are directed overwhelmingly at promoting the global concept…It is obvious enough that the world has grown smaller and that international cooperation is highly desirable.  But the essence of intelligent international cooperation can be measured by its direct usefulness to our national interest.”

And that is the central consideration before the American people.  Is the CFR and its fellow-travelers serving the national interest in its drive towards world government?  In his book, The West in Crisis, James P. Warburg stated his support of the need for a world government.  “We are living in a perilous period of transition from the era of the fully sovereign nation-state to the era of world government.”

On Feb. 17, 1950, Warburg also told a Senate Committee how the peoples of the world would receive this world government. “We shall have world government whether you like it or not, if not by consent by conquest.”  The world government planned by these leaders includes plans for a world police force.  Historian Arnold Toynbee once said, “The local states ought to be deprived of their sovereignty to a global world government.  I think the world state will still need an armed police, and the world government will have to command sufficient force to be able to impose peace.”

The former director of the World Health Organization, Dr. Brock Chisholm, has stated: “To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas.”  In a blatant attack against Christianity he said:  “We have swallowed all manner of poisonous certainties fed us by our parents, our Sunday School teachers, our politicians, our priests, and others with vested interests in controlling us…The eventual eradication of the concept of right and` wrong which has been the basis of child training, the substitution of intelligent and rational thinking for faith in the certainties of the old people, these are the belated objectives for chanting the changes in human behavior.”

So we now see that a new man must be created to fit painlessly into a new world order in which there will be no objective morality, no parental rights, no respect for the elderly, and no Christian orientation.  In short, this anti-Christian New World Order will become a force for the universal indoctrination and imposition of secular-Humanism.  There will be no room in this house for Our Lord Jesus Christ.

And what will become of the right to own private property?  In addition to destroying man’s basic loyalties to family, nation and religion, the nation must be conditioned to the belief that less is better than more.  The standard of living of those in affluent nations must be reduced – that is, by expropriation of the fruits of their productivity by the World government.  This sharing of the wealth, the exact position proposed in the Communist Manifesto, is called the New International Economic Order, a phrase that was defined by the Council of Foreign Relations member, ex-Senator Charles Percy: “The philosophy behind the new international economic order is based on the fact that the developed wealthier nations use a substantially greater share of the earth’s resources than do the less developed poor nations.  The new order calls for a more equitable distribution of the earth’s resources among the earth’s people and redistribution of wealth among the rich and poor nations,” he said.  Richard Gardner, a top advisor to President Jimmy Carter, wrote in the April 1974 issue of FOREIGN AFFAIRS, the monthly journal of the Conference on Foreign Relations, that in building “the house of world order…an end run around national sovereignty, eroding piece by piece, will accomplish more than the old fashioned frontal assault.”  In other worlds, deception is the order of the day.

The progress toward world government has been steady, not because the people of the richer countries have freely chosen it after hearing all the arguments on both sides, but because they have been lied to. And that lie has been dinned into their ears for decades by a prostituted media playing the role of midwife in the birth of the New World Order.

The World Affairs Council – an affiliate of the UN – on Jan. 30, 1976, announced the release of the “Declaration of Interdependence”.  It read in part:  “To establish a New World Order…it is essential that mankind free itself from limitation of national prejudice…We affirm that the economy of all nations is a seamless web, and that no one nation can any longer effectively maintain its processes of production and monetary systems without recognizing the necessity of collaborative regulation by international authorities.  We call upon all nations to strengthen the United Nations and other institutions of world order.”  At the time of its release Congresswoman Marjorie Holt said this about the Declaration:  “It calls for the surrender of our national sovereignty to international organizations.  It declares that our economy should be regulated by international authorities.  It proposes that we enter a New World Order that would redistribute the wealth created by the American people.”  And that’s the CFR game in a nutshell!

It should be pointed out that the Conference on Foreign Relations does not operate in a vacuum.  It has been making foreign policy in our State Department for decades, regardless of which party happens to be in power.  The CFR has become a self-perpetuating bureaucracy within our government.  President Bush’s cabinet is presently dominated by CFR members.

The One-worlders – for all their vaunted cleverness – do not perceive reality with unclouded vision.  How could they, since they categorically deny the very existence of God, and His presence in the affairs of mankind?  They view nations as mere pawns in a global chess game.

At Fatima, the site of the miraculous apparitions of the Blessed Mother, an Angel spoke to the three young seers, identifying himself as the Guardian Angel of Portugal.  This is undeniable evidence that it is God alone who raises up or destroys nations by His inscrutable Will.  The One-worlders labor in vain, for the house they seek to build lacks the foundational stone which is Christ Himself.  And when men strive falsely to build for themselves a material paradise-on-earth, they succeed only in making a living hell of it for helpless multitudes.

The 20th-century of ours will undoubtedly be recorded as the bloodiest in human history, when millions perished in the wreckage of failed Utopian experiments.  But modern man still persists in going it alone without God, which is a sure prescription for madness.

To give the devil his due, however, the apostles for world government have worked long and hard to build their brave new world.  Their tireless zeal – though dedicated to wrongful ends – is awesome to behold.  If Catholics labored with equal zeal for the establishment of the Kingship of Christ over the hearts of men and the nations of the world, they would be transformed into holy vessels of election making straight the way for a glorious new age of Christian order, and moral sanity.  But tragically the Kingship of Christ is an alien concept for most Catholics.  In the United States, especially many Catholics, befuddled by the Americanist Heresy, view the Kingship of Christ as near-treasonous and unpatriotic.  But, paradoxically, a total surrender to Christ does not mean the destruction of our national autonomy, but rather its salvation from the corrosive effects of World government and satanic inroads.

Will the one-worlders succeed in their evil enterprise for World Government?  That will depend upon God’s Providence, for while man proposes, it is God who ultimately disposes.  Much depends, too, upon the willingness of Christians to mount an organized opposition to this diabolical drive for the enslavement of the whole world to a godless central world government.  Primary among the means to do so is each man and woman’s personal sanctity and union with Almighty God, Who alone can inform, animate and direct our human efforts for His greater glory.

At Fatima in 1917, Our Lady made the promise that in the end Her Immaculate Heart will triumph and that mankind would be blessed with a period of peace.  Based on that promise, we can safely assume that the world which will ensue after Her triumph will not be a New World Order.  We can also assume that it will be Her Son, true God, true Man, and true King who will reign in that New World of blessed peace and universal Christian charity.

O Mary, Help of Christians, Pray for Us!
