Pope Francis Opens Door to Women Deacons?
This just in from Zenit:  "Today during an audience with some 900 women religious belonging to the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), Pope Francis said it would be good to establish a commission to study if it is possible to have female deacons." READ ARTICLE HERE

REMNANT COMMENT: I write these words in a hotel room in Montparnasse, Paris. Today, as Remnant pilgrims arrived in this troubled city, a protest broke out in the streets a few block from where I am now. Coming back from the TLM, our group was even momentarily delayed by a situation involving police in riot gear firing tear gas at what appeared to be neo-communist protestors who are unhappy about a new labor law.

The moment has passed but the feeling of unrest and heightened alert has not.

Our pilgrims are here on pilgrimage, ready to consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary--the only peace plan that matters.  But the unrest and violence that cripples what is left of holy Christendom since they banished Christ the King from these precincts seem to be the last thing on the mind of Pope Francis. To learn of the possibility of yet another planned offensive against holy Tradition coming from Rome leaves one with the impression that indeed Francis is fiddling while the Church burns.  Does he have nothing more pressing to do than bow and scrape to the radical liberal Left at a time like this?

But I have made my opinion of the Holy Father's novel approach to the papacy abundantly obvious on this website, so I'll just share with you the contents of an email that just now came in from a good and holy diocesan priest friend regarding the Pope's bombshell on women deacons: "Pope Francis is spoiling for a crisis in the Church  and a papacy of unprecedented proportion if he tries to countermand Pope St. John Paul's infallible pronouncement on women and the sacrament of Holy Orders, Ordinatio Sacerdotalis. Heaven help us as the Pope stands on the precipice of formal heresy."

Heaven help us indeed! This is a dark hour in the history of our beloved Church--perhaps the darkest since Calvary.  The world seems to be putting the Mystical Body of Christ to death before our very eyes. And what is Peter doing?

May God help us all to keep the old Faith despite the regime of Pope Francis. We must  pray for the Holy Father, as the Devil is at work in the Holy City.
