Elon Musk thinks it is his mission to “make new humans”. A recent Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report stated that Elon Musk is bent on producing a “legion” of high-intelligence children with various women he deems as highly “intelligent”, supposedly to address the “population collapse crisis” worldwide.
The WSJ characterized Musk’s plans as a “harem drama”, claiming that the billionaire has had at least 14 known children with four women – although the actual number of children Musk has could be higher.
Arguably at the crux of Musk’s reproductive missions is his “dark view” of the future in which humanity could become extinct due to abysmal demographic statistics, the WSJ asserted.
“He is driven to correct the historic moment by helping seed the earth with more human beings of high intelligence,” the report stated, quoting people familiar with the matter.
Notably, Ashley St. Clair, one of the women Musk allegedly had an affair with and who claims to be the mother of one of his children, showed the WSJ a message that Musk allegedly sent. In it, Musk supposedly asserted his plans to make even more babies with other women.
“To reach legion-level before the apocalypse,” Musk reportedly said. “We will need to use surrogates.”
Musk’s views are problematic on several fronts (assuming the WSJ is accurate in its report about him).
While the billionaire is spot-on with regard to singling out the global demographic crisis (primarily due to low birth rates and permissive abortion policies in many countries), his proposed solutions of “fathering children with various women” and “surrogacy” certainly and understandably raise eyebrows (among people from both the Left and the Right).
Musk’s own track record of serial infidelity (having sexual liaisons with multiple women and fathering children as a result) is already cause for concern. It is already public knowledge that Musk has had high-profile relationships with various women. Little wonder that some have already sounded the alarm regarding Musk’s moral code.
For instance, lamenting the decline in morality even among leaders from the GOP, writer Dace Potas stated in USA Today:
“It used to be a bad thing if a Republican leader had a dozen children with multiple mothers outside of marriage. Now, adultery, extra-marital children and womanizing are all commonplace. The GOP desperately needs good men, good fathers and good husbands. We’re getting further and further away from that. Not only is it good for young men to have true conservative influences in the party, but young women might be more open to listening to conservative perspectives if the top of the party isn’t full of cheaters and abusers. Young Republicans, like me, need better role models.”
Most probably, Musk thinks he can father “as many children as he likes” because he is extremely rich and can easily send a few hundred thousand dollars to each woman who gives birth to his offspring. However, money won’t address many other issues that Musk’s sexual immorality has brought about.
Musk’s reference to populating the world with “highly intelligent” offspring reeks of eugenics. Babies are valuable whether or not they have high IQs.
Where would Musk be when his children from many different women need him in their lives?
What’s more, how will Musk’s children perceive the bad moral example he set for them (with his sexual promiscuity)?
Will more of Musk’s children (God forbid) lash out at him, as did his gender-confused child, “Vivian Jenna Wilson”, who accused Musk of being an “adulterer”?
Also, I’ve not even listed out the numerous consequences of surrogacy on surrogate mothers and children yet.
What is also alarming is that Musk’s reference to populating the world with “highly intelligent” offspring reeks of eugenics. Evidently, he is unmasking his true views that he is not truly and entirely pro-life. Babies are valuable whether or not they have high IQs, or whether they are disabled or otherwise.
As much as I commend the administration of Donald Trump for shifting America back to Christian values and common sense (as compared to the prospect of a dystopian Kamala Harris regime), Trump’s personal life, together with the personal lives of some of those surrounding him (including Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.) are certainly no good examples for faithful Catholics and conservatives.
I couldn’t help but agree with Potas when she stated:
“Conservatism is rooted in a philosophy of personal responsibility. How you conduct yourself as an individual matters. Living your life in line with conservative principles pays dividends far more often than cheating and lying your way through relationships and politics”
Indeed, for those of us who claim to be conservatives and Catholics, how we conduct ourselves matters.
Living our lives in tandem with Catholic moral teachings pays dividends – both in this life (when living virtuous lives can avoid the tragedy of broken families due to adultery and/or pornography use) and in the next (eternal happiness with Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the saints in heaven).
Note that the enemies of the Catholic Church, while not necessarily living morally pristine lives themselves, often like to point out the moral failings of Catholics, including those involved in various regrettable sexual abuse scandals, in their attempts to discredit our venerable Faith.
Musk is not rooting out the causes of such a global demographic decline with his current actions and future plans. Rather, he is worsening the situation in some ways by using low birth rates as a license for his sexual promiscuity and questionable moral decisions.
Ironically, it is the enemies of the Church who implicitly show that they still look to the Catholic Church for moral direction and leadership, by calling out (whether it is by malice or due to past trauma) on the lack of moral leadership among many Catholic clerics and laity worldwide!
By purportedly trying to address the global demographic crisis, Musk is not rooting out the causes of such a global demographic decline with his current actions and future plans. Rather, he is worsening the situation in some ways by using low birth rates as a license for his sexual promiscuity and questionable moral decisions (use of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy).
The ends don’t justify the means.
Instead of simply conveniently claiming to be “culturally Christian” while trying to reap the benefits Christian civilization can bring without bearing moral responsibility for creating such a civilization, Musk can do a lot better by embracing the Catholic Faith – and living it in its fullness, by repenting of his immoral lifestyle and by being more accountable to the women and children in his life. Only then, can he play a more fruitful role in society.
