It's our mantra: June is for the Sacred Heart!

On Sunday, June 18th (Fathers’ Day 2023), members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a public association of the faithful in Covington, Louisiana, marched in a procession to commemorate and honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The month of June was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Pope Blessed Pius IX in 1856. Since then, displays of fidelity and devotion to the Sacred Heart have become all the more vital given the current culture-war over the fate of the traditional family.

Visible in these photographs are Le Carillon-Sacré-Coeur (the traditional flag of the French-Catholic Canadians), a flag with the Vendéen counter-revolutionaries’ symbol for the Sacred Heart, and the battle standard of Joan of Arc (designed by Norman Faucheux, a member of OLMC), followed by a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus borne upon a processional litter. The choir led a chanted rendition of The Litany of the Sacred Heart.
