The following video speaks for itself. After having condemned everyone from mainstream “Church of Nice” establishment media outlets, to Mark Shea, to EWTN, to Catholic Answers, to the National Catholic Register and beyond, Michael Voris has now trained his guns on The Remnant, the SSPX, Catholic Family News, and the Angelus, leaving only Michael Voris and a couple of his friends as the last faithful Catholic media outlet left standing anywhere in the world today.
I do not believe my former friend is here operating out of ignorance. He knows the truth about The Remnant and our long-established alliances but, in the apparent interest of sabotaging his “competition”, has chosen to ignore and distort it, which could be why it is becoming increasingly difficult to find CMTV archival programs on YouTube that featured Remnant writers or SSPX apologists as guests. In fact, those programs seem to be disappearing all of a sudden. Hmmmmm….
Church Militant TV’s war on The Remnant is a fairly new development.
– Voris has lectured at our conferences, once even alongside Angelus Editor James Vogel, for Pete’s sake! (Catholic Identity Conference 2013)
– He has eaten at our tables as a brother (on both sides of the Atlantic)
– He produced a highly laudatory CMTV piece on our Roman Forum in Italy, 2011
– He has had us on his Mic’d up program
– He even wrote a letter for The Remnant raising money for one of our youth initiatives in France
– He called us friends and publicly supported our apostolates.
So why has Michael Voris suddenly thrown us all under the bus?
What is his game?
Why is he trying to polarize good Catholics who are merely trying to survive the worst crisis in Church history?
Good questions!
He says the SSPX is in schism. Fine! That is his opinion, and many well-meaning men share it. But The Remnant is not SSPX, and for Voris, who claims to be an objective voice of authentic Catholic media, to stubbornly refuse to admit that that “schism” has been hotly debated from the pews all the way up to the highest echelons of the Church for more than a quarter century is an astonishing omission on his part that could even, arguably, establish malice.
There are well known statements from successive heads of the CDF itself, for heaven’s sake, taking opposing positions on the question of the SSPX “schism” (well documented in print as well as audio and video tape). When a debate rises to that level in the Church, with strong arguments on both sides, who is Michael Voris to come out pontificating as though the matter were somehow settled? Indeed, he seems to almost want the SSPX to be in schism. Why?
For the sake of those who are new to Tradition and who may be swayed by the revisionist smear campaign of Michael and his friend Mrs. Niles, we will answer this calumny on Remnant TV over the weekend.
In the meantime, make of this what you will and please pray for Michael Voris—a good man whose talents and services have apparently been co-opted by the enemies of the authentic Catholic counterrevolution….
