On Friday, August 23, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump.
Kennedy said three issues convinced him to leave the Democratic Party and “to throw my support to President Trump”: free speech, the war in Ukraine and what he called the “war on our children.”
“My joining the Trump campaign will be a difficult sacrifice for my wife and children, but worthwhile if there’s even a small chance of saving these kids,” he said.
Kennedy later appeared at a rally with Trump in Glendale, Arizona.
Disagreements over abortion and other issues notwithstanding, this is good news in a political world, utterly bereft of any Catholic moral leadership that actually matters. Cardinal Blasé Cupich doing the incantation—no, I will not call that a prayer—at the DNC is the mic drop moment for all of us when it comes to the Catholic Church in America. So, yes, this is good news as it stands as a stark indictment of the Democrat party.
Christ, or chaos! You know the Democrats have lost all touch with reality when even a prominent Kennedy is forced to admit they’ve become a party of sociopaths.
