In his remarks, His Holiness recalled the close relationship that he had with Pope John Paul II. He also said that the Assisi summit that the Cardinal had referred to was a unique experience. He said that Assisi prayer meeting sent a signal to millions of people that different religions and different people had the same potential to serve humanity.
Right on!
I don’t know about all that, but this is a great photo—so great, in fact, that we’ve decided to host a little caption contest. What do you think Cardinal Wuerl might say in this moment of hand-holding ecumenical nirvana? What's going on here?
Don't like Wuerl so much? Rather take a chance on winning the contest with a photo of yet another stellar prince of the Church at a similar outing? Okay, we're feeling magnanimous this morning. So here's another one, this time of Christoph Cardinal Schönborn doing what he does best.
What in thunder is going on here? I.have.no.idea!
