Priest Caught with Kiddy Porn (Just Another Day at the Vatican)

Too soon after the Capozzi orgy, the Pope who pledged “zero-tolerance for sexual abuse” may be sheltering a child porn addict in Vatican City, as this Associated Press report reveals:

VATICAN CITY (AP) -- A high-ranking priest working in the Vatican's embassy in Washington has been recalled after U.S. prosecutors asked for him to be charged there and face trial in a child pornography investigation.

The diplomat was suspected of possessing, but not producing or disseminating, child pornography including images of pre-pubescent children, a U.S. source familiar with the case said. The source was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Vatican declined to identify the priest, but said he was currently in Vatican City and that Vatican prosecutors had launched their own probe and sought evidence from the U.S.

If the accusations pan out, the case would be a major embarrassment for the Vatican and Pope Francis, who has pledged "zero tolerance" for sexual abuse. The diplomat would be the second from the Vatican's diplomatic corps to face possible criminal charges for such crimes during Francis' papacy. And any trial in the Vatican would come as Francis' own financial czar, Cardinal George Pell, is on trial in his native Australia for alleged historic sex abuse cases.

The State Department said it had asked the Vatican to lift the official's diplomatic immunity on Aug. 21, and said the request was denied three days later. For the State Department to make such a request, its lawyers would have needed to be convinced that there was reasonable cause for criminal prosecution.

The circumstances that prompted prosecutors to make the request, however, weren't clear. The Justice Department, which would have brought any charges, didn't immediately comment, and the Vatican gave no details about what, if any, evidence had been provided to persuade it to recall the priest.  READ MORE HERE

REMNANT COMMENT:  Dear God, how much scandal can Your spotless bride endure? In her human element, she has fallen into the hands of who would defile her to death.

While her enemies are legion who’ve been plotting her destruction for centuries, the fact remains that over the course of the past half-century the human element of the Catholic Church has gone from the most powerful institution in the world -- capable of influencing political elections in all four corners of the earth, forcing mighty cultural elites (such as Hollywood) to censor themselves, causing demons like Adolf Hitler to respect Vatican neutrality or face a worldwide Catholic backlash his stupid Reich couldn’t possibly handle, dictating Christocentric moral and cultural norms in nearly every society, sending armies of missionaries to build schools and hospitals and havens for the soul in far-flung precincts barely on the map.  The Catholic Church has gone from that to a ghastly shadow of her former self, pathetically recalling her missionaries, closing her schools, shuttering her churches, and in her delusional state, even raping her own children while begging her secularist jailors for the freedom to breathe the air they control, ever since the signing of the Treaty of Vatican II.

Her priesthood is as decried for homosexuality and child abuse today as it was celebrated for chastity and education yesterday

Her liturgy is a "trivialized" (to use Pope Benedict's word) veritable talent show for wannabe actors and failed pop stars, while the new theology it supports is crayons and finger painting compared to what it was.

Where Aquinas and Augustine once nobly defended her colors, Father James Martin and Blaze Cupich now use them for sanitary tissues.

Where the majesty of her architecture once represented the very best of which man is capable, the landscape today is littered with what appear more like wayside restrooms than Catholic churches.

And all the while, our poor Church hemorrhages members by the millions into false sects, pagan cults or that grand army of worldwide atheism on the move.

It’s madness to refer to such devastation as a “new springtime”, and yet the asylum is now in the hands of the former inmates who insist on it.

When do we get to admit the obvious: that the Devil got over the wall at Vatican II, and that much of the human element of Christ’s Church today is either possessed or hopelessly insane?
