We typically don’t publish letters not initially intended for public consumption. As I see it, however, the following exchange provides a teaching moment for us all, since it speaks to the profound impact Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò is having on the lives of hundreds of thousands of battle-weary faithful Catholics, including not a few priests.
Why does this matter?
Christ established a hierarchical institution, and it is through that hierarchy that His Church will ultimately be restored. In a moment of crisis such as this, then, all the blogospheric commentary in the world cannot possibly replace the witness of one faithful Prelate whose fidelity reminds us of Our Lord’s promise to be with us always, even unto the consummation of the world.
The European Commission on June 14 formally signed legislation to create the EU Digital COVID Certificate. The regulation will take effect July 1 and expire in 12 months.
Member States are required to start issuing the first certificates within six weeks of the July 1 start date, if they haven’t done so by then.
During the official signing ceremony, three main EU institutions — Parliament, the Council and the Commission — signed the regulation to show their support, asserting the certificate is “a symbol of what Europe stands for.”
New from Remnant TV...
What’s the connection between the October 2019 Amazon Synod and the global lockdown that took place a couple of months later?
Is there a connection between Traditional Catholicism and the Pope’s move to rein in the “rigid” Catholics worldwide?
In this episode of The Editor’s Desk, Michael J. Matt discusses the G7 plan to reset the whole world with the help of the Vatican.
In this Sunday Sermon from South Saint Paul, Father breaks down in horrific statistical detail how mainstream Catholics are losing the Faith in dramatic fashion. He then traces the loss of faith in the Real Presence back to the "reforms" of the post-conciliar era. Father then points to the stark parallel between those "reforms" and the Protestant "reforms" of the 16th Century.
What is happening to us, and why are so few fighting back?
The Remnant is now in its 53rd year of operation. Since my father of happy memory founded this newspaper back in 1967, we've expanded this apostolate in several ways, including the establishment of our website in 1996, the founding of Remnant TV in 2011, Remnant Tours back in 1991, etc.
But I'm happy to say that the Remnant newspaper is still the bread and butter of our operation. For many years, we have managed to leverage revenue from subscription sales to finance other aspects of our work, including this website.

We're very excited to invite friends and allies of The Remnant to become members of The Remnant League of the Sacred Heart.
The great Catholic counterrevolutionaries in history fought under the banner of the Sacred Heart. From the Vendeans in France to the Cristeros in Mexico to the Carlists in Spain. And now to the worldwide Traditional Catholic movement.
From RTV on Memorial Day:
Long before the spirit of Vatican II had reinvented the Catholic priest in the image and likeness of Jimmy Martin, there were so many heroes numbered among Catholic priests that even Hollywood used to make movies about them.
Whether it was the more than 2,500 Catholic priests who were murdered by the Nazis at the Dachau concentration camp, or the thousands killed or tortured alongside József Cardinal Mindszenty under the Soviet regime, or the untold numbers of military chaplains who gave their lives on the battlefields of WW I, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, they are the unsung heroes we would like to remember this Memorial Day in a special way.
New from RTV...
In this Sunday Sermon from South Saint Paul, Father addresses a major point of division that has divided serious Catholics for the past 30 years. Rather than pushing his own agenda or insisting that it's his way or the highway, Father encourages Catholics from all camps to unite, if not physically, in the same places of worship, then at least in spirit as one united force against the builders of a diabolical New World Order.
Introduction by Michael Matt
Let’s go back ten years and imagine me telling readers of The Remnant that the day is coming when the pope will abdicate and be replaced by a globalist who will order every church in the world to close its doors, suspend Sunday obligation indefinitely, ban all private Masses in the Basilica of St. Peter in Rome and initiate a plan to abolish Summorum Pontificum worldwide.
You would have cancelled your subscription to The Remnant and rightfully so, its editor having obviously lost his mind. And yet here we are. Among his increasingly bizarre initiatives, declaring all-out war on the Mass—the Traditional Latin Mass, as well as Novus Ordo private Mass—may go down as the hallmark of this ridiculous pontificate.
