I’ve been debating with people over the main motives of the current efforts of the regime in Rome to block or dismantle all attempts to return the Church to her original Catholic course. Many have said, not without justification, that we need to follow the money. Certainly in nearly every case of a concerted attack by the Bergoglians against a Catholic organisation, staggeringly large sums of money are nearly always involved. Still, we can’t discount the ideological motive either.

But “follow the money” is never bad advice for a journalist. This week, our friend Marco Tosatti stirred up the debate again, when he gave us another fascinating glimpse into the Vatican’s ongoing persecution of the saintly Fr. Stefano Manelli and the order he founded, the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.

Pope Francis AFP1 800x430
The essence of the heresy of Pelagius, a holy monk who went badly wrong, is denial of the dogma of Original Sin and the effects of Adam’s transgression upon the whole human race. Pelagianism holds that man is not in a fallen state and that his free will alone is able to reach perfection in virtue, even if grace may assist in the endeavor. The existence of an original Paradise and state of human perfection in Adam and Eve are also denied, with death and concupiscence viewed as natural to man. Pelagius also anticipated by more than a thousand years the Lutheran master-heresy of justification by fiducial faith in Christ alone, with no interior transformation and elevation to a state of grace.

Pope Pelagius?

The pro-life movement is divided over the case of a pregnant high school student who violated her Christian school chastity pledge and will be barred from "walking" at her graduation ceremony. The young lady is complaining to the New York Times, the mainstream media are crucifying the school principal, and some pro-life groups are accusing the Christian school of a form of "shaming" that will lead to more abortions.

So, what's going on here, and why isn't every pro-life group in America supporting this Christian school's efforts to fight the fundamental cause of abortion among teens--premarital sex? Is the pro-life movement lowering the bar on promiscuity? Plus, what is a 'pro-life feminist'?

5600381Pope Francis and Lutheran "Bishops" (Male and Female) Commemorate Luther's Revolt in Sweden

As we approach the 500th anniversary of the Protestant revolt and the planned “commemoration” of the event by the Modernists in Rome, it serves as an opportune time to review Luther’s errors and heresies on justification, as well as the immediate fruits that they produced (Mt. 7:20).  We will see that Luther’s teaching on justification by faith alone (sola fide) is not simply “faith without works,” as some imagine, but is instead rooted in an entirely different notion of faith, which is believed to justify and save man without requiring obedience to the moral law. We will also see that his errors were rooted in a disdain for the holy justice of God and His moral Law, combined with a consequent distortion of Divine mercy – very similar to the errors infecting many high ranking prelates today.

trumptwitterDear President Trump:

I have been following Presidential politics for decades, and never, not even during the height of the Watergate affair, have I seen anything like the situation in which you are now embroiled.

In the brief time that has elapsed since your inauguration—just over four months—the media-DNC-Deep State-RINO complex has managed, by means of an entirely fictional “Russian collusion” narrative, to create or contribute to the impression that you are already on the verge of impeachment proceedings based upon absolutely nothing of legal consequence. An astounding array of investigations, most of them launched in the last days of the Obama administration, have searched for  “collusion” without even the allegation of an underlying crime. To date, the FBI, the CIA, the National Security Agency, the Justice Department, the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and committees of the House and Senate have found no evidence to support the fiction.  Yet on and on the multi-pronged investigation goes.

With 'wars and rumors of wars' dominating news of Syria and Russia, wouldn't the 100th anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions in Fatima have been a good occasion for the visiting Pope Francis to obey the Mother of God and consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart?  Pope Francis didn't think so.  Instead he dragged Our Lady onto the Mercy Express and ignored her requests completely.

Question of the year: If Syrian President Assad is 'gassing his own people', why do the two million Christians in Syria support him? Michael Matt discusses this and the canonization of Jacinta and Francisco--two of the three seers of Fatima.

: There’s nothing sensational about this article…no breaking news, no new & improved papal scandal, no dirty laundry. On the Internet clickbait scale, it's a 1.  But, please, do yourself a favor -- read it. From first paragraph to last, it positively exudes the sensus catholicus. It is filled with hope, and it puts all the scandals of our day into proper perspective — mere footnotes of history, jotted down by someone long after the Novus Ordo has been recalled, the Spirit of Vatican II exorcised, and the traditional liturgies and teachings fully restored to the life of the Church.  Especially if you think this won't happen anytime soon-- please read on. Christianity would not have enemies if it were not an enemy to their vices. ~Jean-Baptiste Massillon (1663-1742)

The Rossinian Moment

Unless I really know what I’m talking about, I prefer to keep my mouth shut. That’s enough to keep me quiet most of the time, but lately I’ve been further reduced to an almost Carthusian-like silence. That’s because I’m constantly finding myself in the midst of a Rossinian moment. Let me explain.

Translated for The Remnant by Dr. Boyd D. Cathey

Editor's Note: The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was fomented in increments by the resentments caused by the Carlist wars of the nineteeth century, the Spanish-American War, and the deepening anticlericalism of the post-enlightenment age.

The mounting tensions exploded into war at dawn on July 18, 1936, when Nationalist troops, under the leadership of General Franco—who would become one of the greatest rulers in modern Spanish history and yet today is pilloried as a "hater" and a "fascist" by the neo-fascists of the New World Order— rose up against the new, communist Republic of Spain. Almost immediately, surrounding world powers began to send aid to their favorites: Soviet Russia came to support the Republic, while Germany and Italy backed the Nationalists.

The first time I walked the Pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres, France, I was 24 years old. I was young and the world was a mess, yes, but so much less so than it is today. People smiled more readily back then. The world wasn’t quite so jaded.

Now I realize that it’s well within the prerogative of grumpy old curmudgeons to think the world is blacker and bleaker today than it was back when they were walking uphill both ways to school every day through driving blizzards. But this is different. It really is so much worse now than then, and I think it’s a statistically provable fact.

Nothing’s the same anymore.

An AP year-long investigation into public schools in America reveals the massive scandal of nearly twenty thousand instances of reported sexual assaults on students as young as 5 years old over the past four years. Dozens of new cases are reported each week, and experts agree that many more cases go unreported in what is a national scandal of unprecedented proportions.

Michael Matt discusses the nightmare that is a federal apparatus of mass brainwashing worthy of something right out of George Orwell.
