Editor's Note: Each year around Christmastime we post this short and personal Christmas reflection, which offers an alternative custom to the celebration of the great Feast.
I wrote it some years ago (before the last two children came along) and every year since, I receive email from Remnant readers telling me that they too have now adopted the old Christ Child tradition, believing it to be a beautiful way to restore and maintain the true meaning of Christmas, while strengthening Catholic identity in children. And it can be gradually implemented, of course.
Christmas is all about midnight and Christmas Eve and the Christ Child. And a truly happy, holy and merry Christmas remains forever predicated on careful observance of Advent. No Christmas trees, no lights, no good things to eat until December 25, when the time of waiting comes to an end and all of Christendom rejoices over an event so magnificent even a two-year-old will never forget it.
Christ is to be born--and the world, the flesh and the Devil will never change that reality, no matter how hard they try. Happy Holidays? Yeah, right! A fruitful Advent and Merry Christmas to all visitors to this site. MJM
Why are the Swamp Creatures impeaching Trump? That easy—it’s because they hate you and they hate me, and they fear the power of the One we follow.
The Christian fast-food giant and one-time defender of Christian marriage has surrendered. After a courageous stand against gay ‘marriage’, the company’s bottom line soared as Christians flocked to defend the chicken sandwich giant.
A few years later, however, Chick-fil-A began pulling back, not only bowing to the demands of the Alphabet Gestapo but even going so far as to donate to the Christophobic Southern Poverty Law Center, God help us. Why? Because the pursuit of money is the root of all evil.
Disheartening as this is, it should come as no surprise. Since the leader of the largest Christian Church in the world has gone virtually silent on moral issues such as homosexuality and abortion, it should surprise no one when Protestants begin to question their own Bible-based moral convictions.
As Advent slips away, I hasten to ask friends and subscribers to consider helping The Remnant out this Christmas. The cost of newsprint and postage is ever on the increase, especially as printing companies struggle to compete with online content distribution systems, inducing more and more newspapers to either go out of business or switch over entirely to an electronic option.
I have no intention of doing either, but I do need a little help. If you’re not already a subscriber to The Remnant, please consider remedying that as soon as possible.
"As the Bible tells us, when the Wise Men 'had come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and fell down and worshipped him.' Christians give thanks that the Son of God came into the world to save humanity. Jesus Christ inspires us to love one another with hearts full of generosity and grace.” - President Donald Trump, Christmas Tree Ceremony, 2019.
Ever hear the President of France say anything even remotely like this? How about the Chancellor of Germany? Spain? Portugal? Just presidential lip service? In that case, what the world really needs is more lip service!

From the Editor’s Desk, Michael Matt takes a hard look at the big event nobody in the Vatican seems to want to talk about—the Nairobi Summit on the 25th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (Cairo).
This Bill and Melinda Gates/UN Population Fund affair was all about contraception, family planning, reproductive rights and…. the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Yes, that’s right—the very same goals Pope Francis and Jeff Sachs have been promoting inside the Vatican for years.

In this RTV Short, we take a quick look at the fact that all the far-Left, pro-abort, pro-NWO politicians are big fans of Pope Francis.
Everyone okay with that?
Given that Democrat hopeful, Bernie Sanders, was invited to speak in the Vatican just five months before the 2016 presidential election, isn't it a pretty safe bet that the Vatican will try again to interfere in 2020?
As scandal continues to rock the Vatican while the hierarchy of the Catholic Church slide further into the covens of the globalists, let us pray the Advent Novena for the intention that God will hear the cries of his scattered sheep and intervene sooner on behalf of his Church rather than later.
According to Tradition and pious belief, those who recite this novena prayer fifteen times daily, from the Feast of Saint Andrew (November 30th) through December 24—Christmas Eve—can be confident that they will in some way attain heavenly answer to their petition.
I can think of no more pressing petition intention than the conversion of those responsible for the Amazon Synod, many of whom are now attempting to sell out the Church to the United Nations for a mess of globalist pottage called the New World Order.

Can Francis and Soros Defeat Trump in 2020?
So, here we go again -- the Church's largest charitable organization, Caritas Internationalis finds itself embroiled in another McCarrick-esque sex abuse scandal.
CNN just dug up the fact that the head of the international Catholic charity's African branch, Salesian Father Luk Delft—a notorious convicted sex offender--was nevertheless promoted to the prominent Caritas position.
