The Cathedral of Chartres is the Key to Understanding the Pilgrimage to Chartres
This has been standing here for centuries. The premier work of man perhaps in the whole Western world, and it’s without a signature: Chartres. A celebration to God’s glory and to the dignity of man. All that’s left, most artists seem to feel these days, is man... There aren’t any celebrations. Ours, the scientists keep telling us, is a universe which is disposable. You know, it might be just this one anonymous glory of all things, this rich stone forest, this epic chant, this gaiety, this grand, choiring shout of affirmation, which we choose when all our cities are dust, to stand intact, to mark where we have been, to testify to what we had it in us to accomplish.” - Orson Welles

We strongly encourage our readers to take twenty-four minutes to watch Raymond Arroyo's interview of Raymond Cardinal Burke on The World Over.
Whatever you may think, it seems Catholics of good will still have a champion in His Eminence.
Among the tough issues addressed--from the McCarrick question to Trump's Wall--Cardinal Burke is clearly on the side of faithful Catholics who are growing increasingly concerned by the scandal that is the pontificate of Pope Francis:
> The faithful have the right to a response from the Pope
> On Populism: Patriotism is part of the natural moral law
> A wall could be a means to keep good order between two sovereign states
This and so much more. Check it out:
God bless Cardinal Burke!

St. Bede was born in northern England in the year 673. At the age of seven, he was sent, as an oblate, to a nearby monastery. In 686 the plague struck, and only two surviving monks were capable of singing the full offices; one was Bede, about 13 years old at the time. When he was only19, he was ordained a deacon by the bishop of his diocese. He became a priest at the age of 30.
In a dramatic message to the “scientific community” Friday, Cardinal Peter Turkson, the head of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, said that the world is undergoing a veritable “climate crisis, caused by man’s interference in nature.”
“The climate crisis is reaching unprecedented proportions. Therefore, the urgency could not be greater,” the cardinal said.
Warning that “we have only around a decade to limit this global warming,” Turkson said that the nations of the world must limit temperature increases to 1.5°C, which he called “a critical physical threshold, inasmuch as it would still enable the avoidance of many destructive impacts of climate changes caused by man.”
“In particular, it would probably safeguard our common home from becoming a ‘greenhouse,’” he said.
We “are already witnessing the grave impact of climate changes on people, in terms of extreme meteorological conditions, such as drought, flooding, rising sea level, devastating storms and ferocious fires,” he said, and the climate crisis “is reaching unprecedented proportions.”
The natural world “is coming to pieces,” the cardinal said, "and adults must listen to young people whose future is threatened and who demand change. It's time for an intervention."
REMNANT COMMENT: I couldn’t agree more, Your Eminence. And since I’m younger than you, may I suggest you stop talking and listen to this demand for change:
Catholics of the world have had enough! It is time to stage an intervention to stop infiltrators like you from further selling out the Church to globalist pro-aborts, hellbent on establishing a New World Order to replace the Kingdom of Christ on earth.
Clearly, the Vatican has been taken over by those whose utopian vision might have been lifted directly from the lyrics of Imagine-- John Lennon’s anthem to Marxist and Freemasonic principles.
At this point, Cardinal Turkson has much more in common with socialist, freshman congressman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez than with the vast majority of pro-life, pro-family Catholics throughout the world.
No wonder Breitbart News, which broke this story, warned their readers: "Marxists really have infiltrated the Church hierarchy to the very top. This has nothing whatsoever to do with Catholicism, and everything to do with politics."
Basta, Your Eminence!
This year’s concluding Solemn Pontifical High Mass in the great gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres on Pentecost Monday will be celebrated by none other than Monsignor André Leonard, Archbishop Emeritus of Mechelen-Brussels and former Primate of Belgium.
On April 24, 2013, the topless harpies of Femen targeted the Archbishop for his strong stand against homosexual marriage.
At that time, the Archbishop’s example reminded many of us of Our Lord Himself, as he remained composed and in prayer as these apparent demons leapt out of their seats at an event at the Brussels' Free University campus and assaulted him, squirting an (at the time) unknown substance at him, while screaming “homophobe!”.
Some readers may not immediately recognize the name, but they’ll certainly remember this famous photograph:
The Archbishop has long since established himself as a fearless champion of traditional Catholic morality, having drawn down the wrath of hell when he called on homosexuals to practice abstinence and expressed his support for the Manif Pour Tous protests against gay marriage legislation in France at the time.
For such a courageous (and controversial) figure to celebrate the most high-profile Traditional Latin Mass of the year in the Chartres Cathedral for 10 to 20 thousand traditional Catholics is a testament to His Excellency’s courage and to that of our brothers at Notre-Dame de Chrétienté. It will be nothing less than an honor for us to stand with these Catholic warriors in Chartres, regardless of the inevitable protests.

Will Pope Francis endorse Joe Biden’s run for the White House?
Can faithful Catholics influence the next Conclave? From the Editor's Desk, Michael J. Matt responds with a resounding YES!
Michael questions the wisdom of accusing Pope Francis of formal heresy rather than just going after Francis the radical, far-Left politician.
On May 19—and in the spirit of Pope Francis—St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida, will host an interfaith Ramadan dinner.
Why? Because, as is explained on St. Margaret Mary's website (which includes the graphic below), they seek to follow the example set by Pope Francis:
The 2019 Easter Sunday Massacre in Sri Lanka has left at least 300 Christians dead and as many as 500 wounded. Sri Lankan government officials blamed the Islamic group National Thowheeth Jama'ath for the senseless bombing that has rocked the country and terrorized the Christian minority community.
The victims—mostly Catholic—of the Massacre were attending Easter Sunday Mass as St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Negombo and St. Anthony's Catholic Shrine in Colombo. The evangelical victims were attending Zion Church in the eastern city of Batticaloa.
Yes, the victims of the Massacre were Christian. Does it violate hate crime laws to report what actually happened in Sri Lanka? Must we come up with more euphemisms? Judging from the bizarre reportage thus far, it's difficult to tell.
I don't remember the mainstream media telling us that "worshippers" were slaughtered by an unnamed "extremist" in Christchurch. In that case, the world was immediately informed that fifty Muslim worshippers in two Christchurch mosques were slaughtered by Brenton Tarrant--a 'suspected white supremacist'. Within in a few hours of that horror, we had the shooter's name, nationality, photos and even his date of birth.
Not so much in the case of the Easter Sunday Massacre in Sri Lanka, where mainstream media have been bending over backwards not to report the facts. Mustn't upset the prevailing Christophobic narrative, after all.
Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton took the subterfuge to a point well beyond the absurd when they tweeted out how sorry they were that "Easter worshippers" were slaughtered by....er.... well they were slaughtered and isn't that too bad!
This is getting truly ridiculous! As images of Christians lying dead in streets everywhere become more or less par for the course, the faithful watchdog media never miss an opportunity to warn their gullible viewers against those hateful Christians and Trump-supporting "terrorists" out there who are, apparently, the only real threat left in the world.
But when Muslim extremists blow up Christian churches the Christian victims are treated like anonymous pariahs.
Say what you will about Fox News, by the way, but in a country whose mainstream media would make Joseph Goebbels blush, Tucker Carlson is, well, a sworn enemy of lying pomposity, smugness and group-think:
We offer our prayers and solidarity to our Christian brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka. May the Risen Christ and His Blessed Mother comfort the survivors and welcome to paradise the victims of this satanic attack on the Mystical Body of Christ.
New From Remnant TV...
From the Editor’s Desk, Michael Matt examines the Holy Week symbolism of the French rooster. which the whole world saw plunge into the flames of Notre Dame. Was that an evil omen, or a good one?
Plus, an old and prophetic French holy card surfaces, which depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Cathedral of Notre Dame in flames.
