But after a six-hour drive from Richmond, during which my father received Last Rites and the Apostolic Pardon, I entered his room in the requisite mask and rubber gloves to encounter, not the final stages of a terminal case of COVID-19, but rather something I had seen before: my dear father in a state of acute, life-threatening dehydration with a related infection. During the lockdown, he had been deprived of family advocacy and support, including the supplemental water my sister had provided him during their daily visits to prevent the dehydration to which he is highly susceptible. By the time of our visit on the 17th, the nursing staff found they could no longer successfully insert an IV for fluids and an emergency transfer to a nearby hospital was required. The father I love, whom I regard as a living saint, had been reduced to complete prostration without the help of a family member who could have forestalled this complication.

Following his admission to the hospital with an admitting diagnosis of dehydration, the hospital’s PICC team were able to insert a line to provide fluids. My father’s condition stabilized, but he is far from out of the woods. He may well not survive this crisis. But, as with the nursing facility, family supportive visits are forbidden by order of the State—unless the hospital lockdown also results in an “end of life” scenario. Once again, we cannot visit to support and advocate for our father, but only to send him off once his condition is deemed terminal. Such senseless cruelty toward the elderly victims of this virus! Yet their battle with the virus is no different in essence from that of elders who were allowed family visits during prior flu epidemics in New Jersey, my father included. Many of those elders died of the flu, including many in my father’s own facility, long before the Wuhan virus made its appearance.

If it be God’s will, my father will survive. If not, a death that might have been prevented by assistance from family, including something as simple as a few glasses of water each day, will be added to the COVID-19 death statistics that have fueled the panic narrative over a flu-like illness Democrat politicians and the lying media have been exploiting in a psychopathic attempt to burn down the country so that Trump will have no prospect of reelection. In this installment of the series, however, I will show—from the perspective of someone who has met the virus—that the great deception is unraveling and may be nearing its end.

Fake Science Finally Exposed by Real Science

Since the last installment of this series, the massive fraud that is Coronagate is being exposed ever more widely as the truth leaks out through growing cracks in the once solid edifice of the media’s panic narrative. For example, an Israeli scientist has dropped what may well be the bombshell that demolishes the entire edifice. Looking at actual data, not “models”, for countries that had minimal or no lockdowns versus total lockdowns, Professor Yitzhak Ben Israel of Tel Aviv University saw that:

The numbers told a shocking story: irrespective of whether the country quarantined like Israel, or went about business as usual like Sweden, coronavirus peaked and subsided in the exact same way. In the exact, same, way. His graphs show that all countries experienced seemingly identical coronavirus infection patterns, with the number of infected peaking in the sixth week and rapidly subsiding by the eighth week.

The Wuhan Virus follows its own pattern… It is a fixed pattern that is not dependent on freedom or quarantine. “There is a decline in the number of infections even [in countries] without closures, and it is similar to the countries with closures,” he wrote in his paper. 

And that is exactly what we are seeing in the United States, which is now in precisely the eighth week of the outbreak on our soil.

At the same time, a Stanford University study of the Wuhan virus in Santa Clara County, California has revealed what we suspected all along: that this virus is no more lethal than the flu.   The study estimates that the total number of infections has been underreported by as much as 85 times, which means the mortality rate has been wildly overestimated: “Based on their results, the Stanford researchers estimated the mortality rate in Santa Clara County to be between 0.12% and 0.2%. By comparison, the average death rate of the seasonal flu is 0.1%.” A death rate of 0.12 percent means that 1.2 people out of a thousand have a fatal outcome, which is entirely consistent with a heavy flu season. And that rate would be even lower in the nation as a whole if tens of millions of people have or had the virus with minor, moderate or no symptoms, which it seems reasonable to assume.

Another study from the University of Southern California for Los Angeles County finds an underreporting of total cases by as much as 55 times, yielding an actual death rate ranging from “around 0.14% to 0.28% — far lower than the 4.5% found by looking at only the current confirmed cases in the county…” A death rate of 0.14 percent is likewise in line with a heavy season, with 1.4 people per thousand having a fatal outcome.

In fact, I am fairly certain that I myself had the Wuhan virus. During the Latin Mass magazine conference in Monterey in late February, near the epicenter of California’s outbreak, I developed nausea, a slight fever, slight chills and violent vomiting for a whole night, followed by fatigue for several days, as did several others in attendance. But later I read that my most unusual symptom—a temporary loss of taste and smell—is a key marker for COVID-19. My loss of taste and smell was particularly acute as to coffee, which suddenly tasted like dishwater and had no coffee smell but rather smelled like something else I could not identify. I was stunned to read that a Virginia state delegate who recovered from the virus complained that “coffee didn’t taste quite right.” (Be assured I had no contact with my father before he contracted the virus in April.)

Confronted by John Roberts at the April 20 press briefing with the results of the USC study, which tends to negate her entire “expert” opinion and thus the disastrous course she has recommended to Trump, Scarf Lady—who still hasn’t run out of scarves or reactivated a medical license in any state—spent two minutes motor-mouthing her way past the objection, emitting pseudo-scientific smoke while saying absolutely nothing by way of rebuttal. But circumlocution and obfuscation are Scarf Lady’s only play in the face of the growing recognition that she and “Tony” have been wrong about everything.

In particular, “Tony and Deborah” have staked their claim to authority largely on the Bill Gates-funded IHME model, which now stands thoroughly discredited. Fox News, suddenly far less of a cheerleader for the panic narrative as I discuss below, has just reported (citing Stat News) that the model’s constantly lowering predictions now “predict” a death toll “with an estimate range of 34,063 to 140,381” as of last Friday, down from the original 2.2 million without “mitigation” and 240,000 with “mitigation” and several more downward adjustments in between. The lower number of the latest estimate is now rather conveniently in the neighborhood of the reported, and greatly inflated, U.S. death toll as of today (April 20). That actual (inflated) death toll, around 42,000, is entirely consistent with an above-average but not extraordinarily bad seasonal flu.

Small wonder that in my home state of Virginia, now being strangled by Baby-Killer Northam’s Democrat Total Lockdown, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has taken to hiding its weekly flu death statistics, which were vastly outpacing those for the Wuhan virus. Actual reported flu deaths stood at 1,424 as of April 9, almost five times as many deaths as the 300 fatalities attributed to the Wuhan virus as of April 20. By April 16, however, the death data for the flu had mysteriously disappeared from the VDH website. Examine the pertinent web pages for yourself:

But wait! On April 22, just as suddenly as they disappeared after April 9, the death data on influenza have reappeared on the VDH website. We now learn that the death toll from influenza/pneumonia stands at 1,533 as of April 16 or nearly five times the purported death toll from the Wuhan virus (324) as of April 22:

Funny—isn’t it?—how Baby Killer Northam’s Democrat Total Lockdown has had no effect on the transmission of influenza yet is supposed to be the only thing that is saving Virginians from mass death on account of the Wuhan virus, which even the suddenly-more-optimistic Scarf Lady is now calling a “flu-like illness” (cf. press briefing of April 21).

By the way, Virginia has just adopted a key element of Coronagate nationwide: the inflated death count. The VDH is now counting “probable” COVID-19 deaths as actual deaths, with “probable” being defined as “meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19.” So, people have died of COVID-19 whether they like it or not! As this scam is repeated in state after state, the COVID-19 death data lose whatever value they had beyond politically motivated propaganda.   

So, what we now know beyond any reasonable doubt is that the IHME model is junk science that even the respected epidemiologists cited by Fox and Stat News now depict as essentially a scientific fraud. Epidemiologist Ruth Etzioni of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center frankly exposes the fraud that has convulsed a nation: “That the IHME model keeps changing is evidence of its lack of reliability as a predictive tool. That it is being used for policy decisions and its results interpreted wrongly is a travesty unfolding before our eyes.”

Moreover, as the report by Stat News summarizes, Etzioni is concerned because “‘the fact that they [IHME] overshot’ — initially projecting up to 240,000 U.S. deaths, compared with fewer than 70,000 now — ‘will be used to suggest that the government response prevented an even greater catastrophe, when in fact the predictions were shaky in the first place.’”

Yet for weeks “Tony and Deborah” employed the worthless IHME model to justify massive destruction of the national economy with the assistance of—it should be obvious by now—their Democrat allies in the media, the governorships, the county bureaucracies, the big city mayoralties, and the Congress.

Another lying defender of the discredited IHME model is one of its creators, Dr. Christopher Murray, who claimed that “It’s a little bit like forecasting the weather. We try to take into account all the data that is coming in from all the states and so all of our numbers are going to be revised as we see progress faster or slower. But, overall, we think that the general trend that we’ve seen since the beginning is a range between 40,000 to 150,000 deaths being where we’ll fallout for the country come June.”

Um, no. A weather forecast actually forecasts the weather; it doesn’t change a forecast of rain to partly cloudy after it fails to rain. And a “prediction” of 40,000 to 150,000 deaths is like a weather forecast that “predicts” that tomorrow there will be anything from scattered showers to a monsoon. In this case, the fake prediction’s spread is between a typical flu season and a deadly pandemic on the order of the Spanish flu of 1917.

Such a “prediction” could not be more dangerous for shaping public policy. Yet, as Fox News notes, even though the IHME model is garbage “[t]he IHME projections were used by the Trump administration in developing national guidelines to mitigate the outbreak. Now, they are reportedly influencing White House thinking on how and when to‘re-open’ the country, as President Trump announced a blueprint for on Thursday.”

Scarf Lady attempted to explain away these fatal embarrassments to her “science” by claiming that the IHME model constantly changes its fake predictions because it “is modeled on what America is doing. That’s what’s happening.” She apparently thinks she can fool all of the people all of the time and that no one will notice that what she is really saying is that the model “predicts” what is already happening. Moreover, as I have stressed repeatedly in this series, the model assumed from the beginning that Americans would “mitigate the virus”—whatever “mitigation” means. So the ever-lowering “predicted” death toll indicates only that none of its predictions “with mitigation” were reliable in the first place and that eventually the “predictions” will simply “predict” the actual number of deaths attributed in any way to the Wuhan virus.

But it’s not only the IHME model which fed a baseless narrative that transformed a flu-like seasonal illness, already declining as the weather warms, into a veritable plague justifying the national lockdown. In fact, all the predictive models were wrong, and they were all wrong in the same way: wild exaggeration of the death toll from the Wuhan virus. As Alex Berenson, a former New York Times reporter, has put it: “In February I was worried about the virus. By mid-March I was more scared about the economy. But now I’m starting to get genuinely nervous. This isn’t complicated. The models don’t work. The hospitals are empty. WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT INDEFINITE LOCKDOWNS?”

I will tell you why, dear reader. What has really been going on all along is that Democrats in lab coats have allied with Democrats in politics in an effort to burn down the country so that Trump will have nothing to take credit for, which will insure the election as President of a senile old political hack who cannot even express a coherent thought and the advent of a “post-COVID world” of massively enhanced state power and institutionalized evil.

Testing! Testing! Testing! Or Lockdown Forever

As their fake science models are exposed as lies, a medico-political alliance of liars is trotting out still more models, this time predicting doom if the lockdown is lifted. For example, MIT rides to the rescue of the panic narrative with a model that predicts “a potentially catastrophic” resurgence in coronavirus cases “if the nation's lockdown measures are lifted too early.” And Fox News’s “medical expert” Dr. Nicole Saphier—doubtless another Democrat—agrees. We need to “‘hunker down for a bit longer’” she solemnly declared on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” because “if we open up too fast, too soon that we're just going to be in the same place again in a couple of months.” How do Saphier and her fellow “experts” know this? The same way they “knew” that 2.2 million would die without “mitigation” and that 240,000 would die even with “mitigation.” That is, they know nothing.

So, how much longer must 330 million Americans “hunker down” in fear of a virus that will soon go the way of all the other viruses? Here we encounter the next phase of this massive, media-assisted con job: America must “hunker down” until there is “sufficient testing.” The utterly preposterous claim in this regard was summarized by Harvard “expert” Dr. Ashish Jah for Fox News: “In order to really get our arms around this infection is we've got to have extensive testing happening all across America. We need to be able to test every single person who's got symptoms, we've got to be able to test people...”

As the breathlessly reported death tolls lose their sting, Fake News CNN is now intoning this new pretext for Lockdown Forever:

Harvard researchers have argued that unless the US could be testing 500,000 per day by May 1, the economy won’t be able to open up. Until the US has that and until it’s possible to figure out where the virus is [everywhere] and where it is going [everywhere], who has had it [millions upon millions] and whether the larger herd of Americans might be gaining some immunity [they obviously have], as with any virus, reopening the country still seems a long way off.

Oh yes, a long way off. Just how stupid do they think we are? In a population of 330 million it is obviously impossible to test “every single person” in every single place the Wuhan virus might be present or have been present. But prescribing the impossible is certainly a good way to prevent a lifting of the lockdown before the November election, by which time the economy will have been reduced to rubble and the Great Depression will look like a mild recession by comparison.

Another “expert,” one Mark Hall, a professor at Wake Forest University—would anyone bet that we do not have here yet another Democrat operative?—now demands not only testing of the symptomatic, but essentially every American: “Both of who has the virus and who has had it, in order to replace blanket restrictions with more targeted protections in a way that balances civil liberties with public health.” Only then, says Hall, can there be “a return to some social and economic activity…”

The man is clearly a lunatic. He surely knows that in order to discover everyone in the American population who either has or has had the virus the entire population would have to be tested. Yet this medical sophist, peddling blatantly fake science, calls that impossible and massively intrusive project a “more targeted” approach that “balances civil liberties with public health.”

And what in the first place is the purpose of all this “testing”? Are we to suppose that if millions test positive, assuming such a level of testing could even be achieved, then millions must be quarantined for at least two weeks before they can return to work? And how are governments supposed to keep track of all these “disqualified” millions of employees in order to release them into the workforce when their two-week house arrest is over? Perhaps they could be tagged like the endangered species whose movements are tracked by zoologists.

What of those who test negative? Will they be “permitted” to resume employment immediately? If so, what is to prevent them from being infected the very next day by those who have yet to be tested? Will this potentiality require that everyone be retested continuously? How could such an impossible regime be maintained? Of course, it can’t be. The idea is a politically motivated subterfuge, disguised as epidemiology, whose goal is tyranny.

“Contract Tracing”: Dangerous Nonsense on Stilts

Furthermore, if someone tests positive will there be an immediate investigation of everyone with whom that person has been in contact? Of course there will! Enter the next element of this increasingly criminal farce: the rising demand by Democrat “experts” for contact tracing for everyone testing positive for a virus. As Fake News NBC is doubtless delighted to report: “‘Army’ of contact tracers will be needed in coronavirus fight. Experts say that could cost billions.”

“This is needed everywhere — no state is exempt,” declares Crystal Watson, a “senior scholar” at Johns Hopkins—meaning a Democrat. “If a state does not do this, if they do not make an effort to try and find and trace every contact, then they won't know whether the virus is in their communities, they won’t be able to make an effort to stop the spread, and worst of all, they will see a spike in cases.”

Evidently, the media-DNC-medical establishment conspiracy now laboring to keep the lockdown going on any pretext operates on the presumption that the vast majority of the American population consists of morons who cannot detect utter nonsense when they see it:

• Contact tracing for a virus is manifestly impossible as a virus, unlike a venereal disease, comes and goes quickly and without lasting detectable damage to the infected person.
• Unlike a venereal disease, which is transmitted to a relative few, readily identifiable people by direct sexual contact, a virus spreads by coughing, sneezing, and deposits onto surfaces—fomites, to use the medical term—so that it would be impossible to “trace” every possible contact, both human and fomite.
• If someone tests positive and then his contacts are traced, will the contacts of those contacts have to be traced as well, and then the contacts of the contacts of the contacts, ad infinitum, including merchant keypads for credit and debit cards, door knobs, handrails, countertops and an infinite variety of other fomites?
• What is to be done with the endlessly traced contacts if they test positive? Are these potentially millions of people to be placed under immediate house arrest, and how can they all be house-arrested before they infect others? And who will enforce the millions of house arrests? Will we need an army of brown shirts funded by the federal government?
• Given that people who test negative may have the virus, but not yet at a detectable level, must everyone who is tested—essentially every American—be tested yet again, perhaps weekly?
• As people who test negative may later be infected by the virus transmitted by someone who has not yet been tested and placed under house arrest, what good is testing of anyone in the first instance?
• Given that the virus spreads from contact with an infinite variety of fomites, including supermarket keypads or a simple doorknob, is not the whole exercise in tracing human contacts absolutely futile?

I am sure the reader can multiply these objections.

The aforementioned Wake Forest “expert”—i.e., presumptive Democrat—and his co-author declare that “re-opening society in this manner ‘would require a testing regimen on a scale unparalleled in U.S. history.’” Unparalleled indeed! Because impossible, unnecessary and intolerable. The demand by the Left United for the Virus (LUV) for “contract tracing” has nothing to do with public health or safety, and even if it had some rational relation to that goal it would be an absolutely inadmissible violation of civil liberties, personal privacy and the natural law.

The ridiculous demand for “contact tracing” for a transient virus is nothing other than a pretext for the imposition of a permanent medical dictatorship on America. And LUV could not be more explicit in its aim to achieve precisely that. As the aforesaid Wake Forest “experts” warn:

[R]esistance to drastic disease-control measures is already evident… Rising infection rates and mortality, coupled with scientific uncertainty about COVID-19, should keep resentment at bay — for a while. But the status quo isn’t sustainable for months on end; public unrest will eventually become too great. A showdown between public health imperatives and civil liberties appears inevitable.

Beyond the already existing, blatantly unconstitutional state lockdowns and the proposed Orwellian testing regime, additional elements of the medical dictatorship for which LUV is now agitating would include drones equipped with infrared cameras to detect anyone with a fever, mandatory vaccination, and the legally mandated wearing of government-issued indicia to indicate that one is not a COVID-19 leper in a nation of hundreds of millions of presumptive COVID-19 lepers. The last requirement has already been imposed in one Montana county, which has prohibited shopping by anyone who does not display a government-issued pink armband certifying that the wearer has “self-quarantined” for at least two weeks:

The Valley County Health Department even provides a helpful script for merchants who are expected to enforce the armband requirement: “You are violating our Governor’s and Valley County’s Health Officer’s orders…. If you don’t cooperate, you will force me to call law enforcement.”

Quite simply, LUV is a collection of crazed fanatics who will stop at nothing to prevent a national return to normality lest Trump be the victor and the final ascension of their empire of evil is deferred again by another four years of Trump.

Fauci Finally Loses His Cred

As things now stand, Trump’s bid to “reopen the country” is ever-more-furiously opposed by Democrat operatives in the Party, its media apparatus and its allies in the medical establishment, including “Tony and Deborah,” whom Trump has clutched to his breast as “great professionals” who helped him avoid “2.2 million deaths” from the virus. While the last few press briefings indicate that Scarf Lady has been largely repurposed to sound notes of optimism supported by her stupid charts and graphs, Fauci, whose now-sporadic appearances at the briefings have been kept to a minimum, is still at work in the media component of LUV, undermining Trump at every turn.

On April 20, appearing on Good Morning America, the devious little character declared that there can be no “reopening” of the country yet because “We’re only doing 1.5 to 2 million [tests] a week,” whereas “We really need to get up to at least maybe two times that, three times that.” No return to normal, says the perfidious Fauci, without six million pointless tests a week. That means, conveniently enough for the Democrats, no return to normal in the foreseeable future, and certainly not before the November election.

Now, even at the impossible rate of six million tests per week it would take a year to test the entire US population, by which time the virus will have moved on, the American economy will no longer exist, and people will be foraging for food in garbage cans as in Maduro’s Venezuela. In any event, Fauci is clearly prevaricating yet again: He knows there is no possible way six million Americans per week will line up for his imaginary testing regimen. He proposes it merely in­­ order to create another roadblock to the reopening of the country, which has been his function since Trump made the catastrophic mistake of adding this crank to his “Coronavirus Response” team.  

As cries of “Fire Fauci!” rise from an imprisoned people, who have had enough of the tyrannical nonsense that is costing them their livelihoods, their freedom of movement and even their sanity, Fauci huffs that “The message is that clearly this is something that is hurting from the standpoint of economics, from the standpoint of things that have nothing to do with the virus. But unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery economically is not going to happen.”

Fauci the celebrity “scientist,” who lives in luxury with a salary guaranteed by his patron, Bill Gates, sees nothing but selfishness in the protests of the masses he has helped to imprison. Yet this coddled bureaucrat sees nothing wrong with hookups for sodomy via the Grindr app, providing the participants are willing to assume the risk. Let the man’s own words indict him forever before the bar of history:

Hamby: “On the opposite side of that spectrum, people are cooped up, they’re a little stir crazy. If you’re swiping on a dating app like Tinder, or Bumble, or Grindr, and you match with someone that you think is hot, and you’re just kind of like, “Maybe it’s fine if this one stranger comes over.” What do you say to that person?”

Fauci: If you’re willing to take a risk — and you know, everybody has their own tolerance for risks — you could figure out if you want to meet somebody. And it depends on the level of the interaction that you want to have. If you’re looking for a friend, sit in a room and put a mask on, and you know, chat a bit. If you want to go a little bit more intimate, well, then that’s your choice regarding a risk.”

So, according to the perfidious Fauci, it’s “your choice regarding a risk” if you wish to engage in direct sexual contact with various people who might have the virus or whom you might infect with the virus, who will in turn infect others. But it’s not “your choice regarding a risk” merely to shake hands, much less go to work or to church, even if you observe the silly “social distancing” requirement of remaining six feet away from everyone else on the job or in the pews.  

“Science” permits this disparity, you see.

Thus spake Fauci. Having turned definitively away from the panic narrative he had earlier assisted, Tucker Carlson made short work of this crackpot, who has been instrumental in the national lockdown:

Got that? Straight from America’s most trusted doctor: Shaking hands with friends must not be allowed. Having sex with strangers you meet on line is ‘your choice.’ Following the ‘science’ here? No you’re not because there isn’t any. Dr. Fauci is making this up as he goes along….

Unfortunately most of our leaders are like that. They have no humility, they are children playing dress-up and demanding we believe they’re adults. On one level it’s amusing: the pretense is ludicrous; nobody’s really fooled. But on the other hand it’s scary: these are the people in charge of our country.

But Fauci’s revelation is a decisively important slip-up, for it demonstrates that the lockdown regime strangling the life out of this country has nothing to do with “science” or “saving lives” and everything to do with social engineering for the “post-COVID world”. On the pretext of a virus, normal social, religious and economic activities are forbidden while abominable sins are allowed to continue without restriction.

Can Trump Escape the Narrative He Owned?

Trump has owned LUV’s panic narrative, which has produced an “Opening Up America Plan” that is a bureaucrat’s dream: a risible scheme of “gating criteria” preceding entry into each of three “phases” for the resumption of normal social and economic activity. Included in the Plan is a disturbingly vague reference to “contact tracing,” slipped into the section entitled “Core State Preparedness Responsibilities.” In Democrat-controlled states, of course, the Plan will be cited as the basis for further tyrannizing of the people in order to perpetuate the Trump-killer lockdown. But nothing here has the force of law and the document may well disregarded completely, if not denounced outright, as people everywhere, beginning in Republican-controlled states, recognize that this Rube Goldberg contraption of a plan has no connection to reality and simply resume their lives.

In any case, Trump has wedded himself to the Plan’s series of hoops through which the entire American population would supposedly have to jump in order to get their lives back. And he has also endorsed the Plan’s vague provisions for the meaningless ritual of “testing, testing, testing,” to quote Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi, high priestess of the Democrats’ satanic abortion cult, has the diabolical audacity to declare that “every life is precious.” And while millions suffer under virtual house arrest, the Madame Defarge of the LUV operation luxuriates in her ocean-view Pacific Coast home, feasting on 12-dollar-a-pint gourmet chocolate ice cream larded into a $22,000 dollar pair of refrigerators in her lavish custom kitchen.

At the daily press briefings that have descended into black comedy, Trump, having been roped into the testing regime, is boasting about how many test swabs are being produced now that all the whining about the inadequate number of ventilators has ceased. “You will have more swabs than you know what to do with,” he said at the April 19 briefing. Yet neither Trump nor anyone else has been able to articulate a coherent rationale for mass testing of the general population for the presence of a virus that will be long gone before the supposedly required tens of millions of tests could even be completed.

Trump’s strategy, including his endorsement of the Plan, is to overcome the panic narrative by appearing to be the victor over the “scourge” or the “plague” as he calls a transient viral epidemic that is already waning. But now he is faced with the huge problem of changing the narrative’s direction in order to avoid its ruinous effects at the state and local level, where Democrat operatives are imposing or proposing dictatorial restraints on civil liberties and irremediable damage to the economy that will have catastrophic psychological and physical consequences for the whole nation, including suicide, alcohol and drug addiction, domestic violence, growing civil unrest including riots and looting, and stress-induced death on a massive scale.

We are now witnessing a titanic sociopolitical struggle between two opposing narratives: Trump’s narrative of a full national recovery in the near future versus LUV’s narrative that, essentially, the recovery will never happen—until, that is, a Democrat is President. Trump hopped on the back of a tiger rather than attempting to slay it at the outset of its appearance, evidently because he felt (reasonably enough) that he had no other choice. The fate of a nation depends upon whether he will be able to tame the beast before it rages beyond all control.

The wild card here, which may change everything for the better, is the popular will. As the death toll, however inflated, drops ever-nearer to zero and more and more people come to the realization that the lethality of this virus is no greater and perhaps even less than that of the flu, a sufficient number of people may shake off the mass hypnosis the media have induced and resist any further attempts to corral them with fear. Life could return to normal by sheer strength of numbers as great masses of people simply refuse to be bullied any longer.

Here I must note a remarkable turnabout at Fox News, at least as far as its nighttime lineup is concerned. On April 20, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Shannon Bream were almost as one in declaring that the people have been duped by the fear-mongers, not excluding “Deborah and Tony,” and that the national lockdown is a pretext for increasingly absurd and outrageous dictates by power-mad Democrats and a disaster that must end. Among other bombs that Carlson dropped is the scientific evidence that forcing people to stay indoors actually worsens the impact of a virus, which dissipates quickly when people circulate outdoors in the open air, building up their immune systems in the sun while acquiring the herd immunity that Fauci deviously seeks to prevent in favor of a vaccine that may never come. Most telling were Brit Hume’s declarations that the lockdown is “a colossal public policy calamity,” that “I have my doubts that it is making any difference at all,” and that Birx and Fauci “may have made a serious mistake here.”

It looks like Fox News is finally catching up with The Remnant!

But LUV is marshalling its own forces to counterattack Fox and other sources of popular discontent with Democrat tyrants. Facebook is actually conspiring with governors to remove posts by people and groups attempting to organize “Open America” protests. YouTube and Twitter will no doubt do their part to assist the lying media in stifling all dissent from the panic narrative. Nevertheless, the narrative is clearly losing its power over the minds of the people. They have had enough.

We can only wait and see whether Trump will prevail and the nation will be liberated from the dead hand of the lockdown in time for a full recovery. Meanwhile, the Catholic commentators who have lent credence to this farce—we all know who they are—should have enough honesty to hang their heads in shame for the way they have led the faithful, by fear, into the jaws of tyranny.
