Chartres Pilgrimage Closes with Traditional Latin Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome

Not to be daunted by the Covid pandemic, Notre-Dame de Chrétienté has organized an international virtual pilgrimage with traditional Catholics from all over the world.

And while we are all deeply saddened by not being able to march to the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Chartres this Pentecost Monday, as we've done for the past 29 years, I am thrilled to announce that the closing Mass of the Chartres Pilgrimage was celebrated today in the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome on the altar of Saint Petronilla.

The celebrant is none other than Monsignor Patrick Descourtieux, head of the Ecclesia Dei division within the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

The video is only 40 minutes long and as you begin to watch it,  you will no doubt find your heart longing for the return of the Mass in all of its glory and for the sublime sacred music that has gone largely silent since the international pandemic lockdown.

This extraordinary Mass, taking place today in the Vatican, must surely be seen as a sign of great hope for us all.

Congratulations and much gratitude to our French friends and allies atNotre-Dame de Chrétienté. Please God, we'll see you next year on the Road to Chartres.

Our Lady of Christendom pray for us.
