Zen and the Art of Motu Proprio Maintenance

Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-kiun’s arrest by the Chinese Communist Party puppets in Hong Kong nails one more scalp to the Communist Wall of Religious Persecution. Communists (and their fellow travelers worldwide) hate religion. Communists hate God. This is nothing new, and it will never change. Even before Cardinal Zen was thrown into a Communist dungeon in what was once one of the most vibrant and Catholic-friendly cities in East Asia, Communists have been gunning for anyone who believes in a higher power than the Party.

True to form, those Communists are enthusiastic torturers and murderers of Christians and other religious people. Protestants form underground churches in the People’s Republic of China because the above-ground churches are crawling with spies and overflowing with socialist propaganda. Falun Gong practitioners languish in prisons, basically giant meat lockers which the Communists use for spare organs for Party cadres (or for elites in other countries with the cash to pay for a heart or liver freshly cut out of a vivisected warm body). More than a million Muslims in East Turkestan are in concentration camps run by ethno-fascist Han Chinese Communists. Buddhists in Tibet have been fighting genocide and religiously-motivated extermination for decades. The Chinese Communists have made raping Tibetan nuns and burning down Tibetan monasteries into a science.

Catholic faithful, those who refuse to join the “official, patriotic” sham Catholic organization, are hounded, rounded up, imprisoned, also killed.

The Catholics in China are no exception to this very typical Communist behavior. The Communists in Beijing have disappeared and murdered Catholic bishops. Catholic faithful, those who refuse to join the “official, patriotic” sham Catholic organization, are hounded, rounded up, imprisoned, also killed.

And yet, the Vatican deals with the Communists in China. Given the manifest contempt in which Communists hold religious faith, and especially Catholics, many people around the world have long been puzzled over the Vatican’s insistence of pursuing “dialogue” with the Communists in Beijing. The perversion of the arrangement smarts the eyes and staggers the imagination. The Bishop of Rome, cutting deals with the devils of Marx and Mao.

Serial pederast and general sexual predator Theodore “Uncle Ted” McCarrick was the person in charge of negotiations between the Chinese Communist Party and the Holy See for years. So, you tell me whether the Vatican is being blackmailed or not.

Is it for money? Yes, in part for money. Is the Vatican being blackmailed? Well, serial pederast and general sexual predator Theodore “Uncle Ted” McCarrick was the person in charge of negotiations between the Chinese Communist Party and the Holy See for years. So, you tell me whether the Vatican is being blackmailed or not.

But the arrest of Cardinal Zen shows us an even more sinister aspect of the Vatican’s perfidy. Readers will recall that in September of 2020, Cardinal Zen was permitted by the Communists to leave Hong Kong for 120 hours. Cardinal Zen spent those hours traveling to and from Rome. While in Rome, Cardinal Zen attempted to deliver a letter to Pope Francis, begging Francis to provide Hong Kong with a bishop. And not just any bishop, Cardinal Zen noted. Not a stooge of Beijing. A good bishop, one that would care for the spiritual needs of the faithful in Hong Kong.

Francis refused to meet Cardinal Zen. The Holy Father was “too busy.”

Let us admit the plain truth. Cardinal Zen has been arrested, and Francis is glad.

What was Francis busy doing? Systematically destroying the Catholic Faith. Let us admit the plain truth. Cardinal Zen has been arrested, and Francis is glad. The Vatican did nothing to protect or even help Cardinal Zen while it could. It abandoned him to the wolves. And now that Cardinal Zen is being swallowed down by those wolves, the Vatican is issuing statements such as this:

“I would like to express my closeness to the cardinal who was freed and treated well,” said Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who in this remark is basically praising the Communists for their treatment of the innocent, ninety-year-old man they have just arrested. Parolin then added that he hopes Cardinal Zen’s arrest “will not complicate the Holy See’s dialogue with China.”

Cardinal Parolin hopes dialogue with China will not be complicated by this unfortunate event. In fact, Your Eminence, the dialogue is already complicated. When your “dialogue” partner is arresting your people, then things are not going well. One would have thought that Cardinal Parolin could have seen this long ago.

The “dialogue” is not really about how to protect the Church and her rights and the faithful in China. It is about how to cooperate with Beijing to bring down Christianity forever.

But “dialogue” is not what we think it is. When Parolin speaks of “the Holy See’s dialogue with China,” he is speaking in code. This is now clear. The “dialogue” is not really about how to protect the Church and her rights and the faithful in China. It is about how to cooperate with Beijing to bring down Christianity forever, to complete Francis’ program—and not just his, but his Jesuits’, and all the Modernists and other apostates now swarming Rome—to turn the Vatican into flamines for Davos.

Consider that Carrie Lam, the Beijing sock puppet who effected the death of Hong Kong by selling it over to the Communists, is a “Catholic.” John Lee, the newly “elected” Hong Kong leader (Lee got 99% of the vote—he was the only candidate), was educated by Jesuits.

Francis wants Zen in prison. Zen was one of the last insiders standing against Francis’ destruction of the Mass via the July 16, 2021 motu proprio “Traditionis Custodes.”

It should be perfectly obvious what is going on. Francis wants Zen in prison. Zen was one of the last insiders standing against Francis’ destruction of the Mass via the July 16, 2021 motu proprio “Traditionis Custodes.” This is the Vatican’s game. It abandoned not just Zen, but all the Catholics in Hong Kong. (It had the help of Vatican II-style fake Catholics in doing this—the perfect expression of what Vatican II was and is all about.)

The arrest of Cardinal Zen is about the art of motu proprio maintenance. Francis is purging the resistance to his gross vandalism of the Catholic Faith, and is willing—eager—to use Communists to help him do it.

After all, Francis and the Communists want the same thing. They are on the same side. Cardinal Zen, the hero of Hong Kong and the living martyr for the Faith, has revealed to the world who Francis is, and what his Newchurch is all about.
