An Exercise in Virtual Hypocrisy

An Exercise in Virtual Hypocrisy

At his virtual “Summit for Democracy,” which received little news coverage and was more icing than cake, President Biden announced, “In the face of sustained and alarming challenges to democracy, universal human rights, and all around the world, democracy needs champions.”

I had to reread that statement more than once believing I had missed the punchline.

It was no joke.

It is a favorable bet that those nations that did participate in Biden’s summit did so knowing that the tide of U.S. foreign aid was in the balance. The Chinese and Russians must be amused as two democracies Taiwan and Ukraine remain under threat of invasion.

For Bidenestas, “championing democracy” means vaccine mandates, sidestepping the Constitution, open borders, and concerned parents who question their children’s local public-school curriculum are domestic terrorists.

For Bidenestas, “championing democracy” means vaccine mandates, sidestepping the Constitution, open borders, and concerned parents who question their children’s local public-school curriculum are domestic terrorists.  The same for our armed forces.  Provided you have a religious objection to the COVID vaccine, you are administratively discharged – career over.

Ironically, those least likely to board the vaccine mandate express are Blacks. Provided they were onboard, the smearing of Christians and conservatives would take off like a run-away train downhill. Anyone who questions this administration’s COVID policy is not only anti-science but deplorable.

When will people realize that the ongoing open borders is not about democracy or even human rights, but totalitarianism?

Attempting to reinvigorate democracy the world over, the Biden administration through its actions and policies only demonstrates its contempt. By silencing political opponents in pursuit of a one-party coalition, the administration serves to cancel half the nation.

Biden lectures nations on corruption, limits on free speech, and the suppression of political opponents, but ignores those very actions here at home. Regarding legitimate elections, Biden’s administration assails states that pass laws ensuring that only American citizens are eligible to vote. Biden is by no means a champion of the democratic process. Rather, his administration seeks a hyper-statist dictatorship run by Machiavellian potentates and statist bureaucrats.

American democracy is straining under the weight of mounting political polarization, distrust and a win-at-any-cost mentality. Democracy and its fragile sovereignty are expendable when the expansion of leftist ideology and the acquisition of political power lie in the balance.  It is in this context that “democracy” serves as a euphemism for leftist ultimatums.

This scourge of unceasing totalitarian conformism is turning this once free republic into an alien place that our Founding Fathers would fail to recognize. The real homegrown threats to democracy are voter fraud, and social media outlets that strangle conservative speech, while cheering our criminal justice system to decree punishment against the politically maligned. Any conservative opposition to leftist propaganda is, according to the Biden administration, a threat to democracy.

Summit for democracy, give me a break.

Democracies do not fade away because of a failure to pass a partisan agenda or win an election.

Democrats fear democracy, as much as they fear robust dialogue and disagreements. They prefer decisions are not made by the people and for the people, but rather by an army of unelected bureaucrats backed up by a leftist judiciary. Provided their demands fall short, like not maintaining abortion, the courts are to be packed with left wing judges.

Democracies do not fade away because of a failure to pass a partisan agenda or win an election. They die when the rule of law collapses. All of us had a front row seat to such malfeasance during the 2020 riots that should give everyone reason to pause.

Throughout history, democracies have failed when enough start voting for a living instead of working for one. We need leaders committed to these values where the Constitution and the country are always above partisan politics. The two major political parties need to recommit to the rule of law. Democratic societies thrive when there is a sense of community, identity, and belonging where laws and values are creed.

Christmas Special

Our currency has inscribed the nation’s de facto motto: “E Pluribus Unum” — from many, one. For our democracy to survive, we must live that motto or face the dustbin of history.

The democratic process is a slow consensus, which can be messy and has been labelled the worst form of government – except for all the others.

What about the world’s oldest democracy, the United States of America?

Still the worst country on earth — except for all the others.
