Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome (0)
RTV Covers Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome
Remnant TV was in Rome this past week covering the Vatican’s clerical sexual abuse summit on the “protection of minors”. It seemed a dismal assignment, to be sure, but the reason it was necessary for The Remnant to be in the Eternal City was so we could throw in with our traditional Catholic allies in Rome who’d organized an act of formal resistance to the Vatican sham summit.
Going in, we all knew that the ultimate goal of the summit was to establish child abuse—not rampant homosexuality in the priesthood—as the main cause of a crisis in the Catholic Church which now rivals that of the Protestant Revolt. (Remnant TV coverage of this event as well as the Vatican summit itself, can be found on The Remnant’s YouTube channel, and for your convenience is laid out below:

View items...A petition is circulating to rename the racisit Margaret Sanger Square in New York City:
Since Americans are expressing their anger at historical figures with racist legacies, it is high time that 'Margaret Sanger Square' be renamed. Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood, a murderous organization which has aborted over 60 million unborn babies, mostly African-American children. Sanger once referred to African Americans as "human weeds".
It needs 99,924 signatures by September 14, 2017, in order to get a response from the White House. Sign the petition HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: The woman is straight up creepy, too. But besides that, I'm offended by her racism, her hate and her genocidal campaign against my species. I'm quite sure our friends on the Left will hop to it and rename that Square now that they know how deeply offended I am by this. Isn't that how it works? Anyway, check this nutter out:
Speaking of Racists: Hey, Ho, Sanger Square Has To Go!

One bridge connects the two territories. A few meters of barbed wire separate two worlds and two civilizations. The physical distance can be measured in a few meters. The moral distance, however, cannot be measured. On one side there is liberty, over there the negation of every religious liberty. – Father Ambrogio Poletti, from “The Priest at the Bamboo Curtain”
Under the brim of a grimy, frayed newsboy cap, two sunken eyes rimmed in black stared straight ahead from their sockets, as if frozen from fear. A scraggily beard hung like gray stalactites from cavernous cheeks. Bald patches detailed a survey of where torturers had plucked hairs during interrogations. Upon a stretcher lay an Italian bishop, 63 years old, frail and weak. His black tunic and dirt-stained pants draped loosely over his bones. Chinese black-cloth shoes – wrapped around and tied with spare twine – swaddled his swollen feet.
Just on the heels of Politico's blockbuster expose of the radical Southern Poverty Law Center, Tucker Carlson of the Fox News Channel hosted the Family Research Channel's Tony Perkins to talk about the SPLC's highly questionable tactics in labeling Christian and pro-family organizations as 'hate groups' – many appearing on the SPLC's ridiculous (but dangerous) hate map right alongside actual haters such as the KKK and the Neo-Nazis.
Did you know that James T. Hodgkinson, the shooter who targeted Republicans at a congressional baseball game practice and nearly killed Congressman Steve Scalise (R-La.), gave moral support to the Southern Poverty Law Center? The SPLC had repeatedly attacked Scalise, along with former presidential candidate Ben Carson and women's right activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Watch Carlson and Perkins dismantle what’s fast becoming not only the largest hate group in America but also the most egregious purveyor of dangerous Fake News in the world today – the Southern Poverty Law Center.

FNC's Tucker Carlson Blasts the Southern Poverty Law Center

Friday, July 28, 5:45 AM: a hundred and fifty pilgrims attend Mass at Immaculate Conception Priory, the SSPX chapel in Post Falls, Idaho, before walking twenty-two miles on asphalt bike paths and abandoned railroad lines through the local towns. That night, they camp in a hay field east of Coeur d’Alene. Saturday, July 29, 6:30 AM: fifty more pilgrims, freed from the duties of the work week, join Friday’s group for a day of trekking across gravel backroads and rough logging trails in the Coeur d’Alene Mountains.

By: Clare Wilson(American Family Association) This week, CNN listed the American Family Association as a "hate group" in a sham news article that could easily incite violence and place AFA employees and supporters in harm's way. CNN has since issued a correction and removed AFA by name off their website. Instead, CNN links to the Southern Poverty Law Center website which falsely lists AFA as a "hate group."
AFA is urging CNN to stop using the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as a source when reporting real news. The SPLC is a radical organization and its hateful rhetoric was implicated in a 2012 shooting at the Family Research Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C..
By citing the SPLC, CNN underscores why many Americans don't trust it for honest reporting. The SPLC has been widely discredited over the years because of its false labeling of Christian organizations as "hate groups." In fact, even the liberal Obama Department of Justice quietly reprimanded SPLC and its attorneys because their conduct "overstepped the bounds of zealous advocacy and was unprofessional."
Many remember when the SPLC placed world renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, on an "extremist" watch list. Why did they do this? Because Dr. Carson believes that marriage is between one man and one woman. READ MORE HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: While The Remnant denounces and condemns all actual hate groups (such as the Neo-Nazis, the KKK and the SPLC), we call upon all pro-life, pro-family, pro-Christian organizations targeted by the SPLC to unite against these dangerous purveyors of Fake News here in the country we all love. We support the AFA's call for justice, and we encourage our readers to sign the AFA petition to CNN, urging that network to stop using the Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource.
If Christians do not stand up for themselves against this orchestrated and Christophobic witch hunt, nobody will.
American Family Association Targeted as 'Hate Group' by FAKE NEWS CNN, Southern Poverty Law Center
By: Michael J. Matt | Editor‘Leader’ of One of Minnesota’s ‘Active Hate Groups’
According to the Radically Liberal Southern Poverty Law Center
“Southern Poverty Law Center has been criticized in the past for having too broad a definition of hate.” (WCCO TV reporter, Heather Brown, August 14, 2017) So there’s your 2017 Understatement of the Year. But then why did WCCO TV rely on an obvious Fake News source to concoct a nothingburger story like this? Let us consider this textbook example of Fake News.
Last night, WCCO TV attempted to forge a link between white supremacists in Charlottesville, VA and—wait for it! —The Remnant. As the primary source for this “exposé”, WCCO reporter Heather Brown trotted out the 2006 Southern Poverty Law Center Intelligence Report on hate groups in America.

By: Michael J. Matt | EditorAmid protests from the usual suspects, the Trump Administration nixed $213M from Teen Pregnancy Prevention, all by itself. Here's how LifeSite says it went down:
President Donald Trump recently cut funding to a questionable teen pregnancy prevention program that has given millions of dollars to the abortion business Planned Parenthood.
The Hill reports pro-abortion President Barack Obama created the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program in 2010 to teach vulnerable populations of students about preventing pregnancy.
Participants in the program recently learned that their grant funding will end next year, two years sooner than expected, according to the report. Trump’s administration notified the 81 grant recipients that funding for the program is being cut by about $200 million and their grants will end on June 30, 2018, the report states.
Among the groups receiving grants to teach sex education are several Planned Parenthood affiliates.
The program administrators awarded an annual $1 million grant to Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands to target rural teens.
The abortion group said it uses the funds to “reduce teen pregnancy rates, increase use of contraceptives and delay initiation of sexual activity among ninth- to 12th-grade youth in rural Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Hawaii.”
Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho, as well as Planned Parenthood of the Heartland also received grants of nearly $1 million each annually to promote their sex agenda to teens.
Health and Human Services Department spokesman Mark Vafiades told the New York Times that there is very little evidence that the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program is working.
Vafiades said the evidence of a positive impact is “very weak,” and the Trump administration wants to support a program that “provides youth with the information and skills they need to avoid the many risks associated with teen sex.”
Democrats and abortion activists are upset by the cuts, and are sending letters to HHS Secretary Tom Price in protest. Many speculate that the cuts could mean Trump’s administration will support abstinence-based programs instead…

Trump Admin Ready to Fund Abstinence-based Programs?
By: Michael J. Matt | EditorLa Croix recently reported that women are assuming critical roles within multiple German diocese:
Fifteen years ago, Daniela Engelhard became the first woman to take overall responsibility for pastoral work in the Diocese of Osnabrück in north-west Germany. Today there are ten women holding similar positions in different German dioceses.
The German Bishops Conference (DBK) welcomed the fact that its target of 40% of women in posts as directors of pastoral work has been achieved, it said in a statement published on July 31.
At the moment, the 27 German dioceses now have a woman as the head of their pastoral work departments. The women are responsible for “multiple fields of pastoral work".
These include restructuring pastoral zones, accompanying couples and families but also emergency aid, migrant pastoral care as well as interreligious dialogue…
…Daniela Engelhard told La Croix that she strives to develop within the Church “new forms of more participative and community-based work” as well as “new ways of speaking about faith”. She believes in “turning our attention less towards the limitations than the opportunities".
Xavierian Sister Gudrun Steiss, who studied pastoral catechetics and interreligious dialogue at the Catholic Institute of Paris, is now director of pastoral work in Hamburg.
Her work priorities include studying “how administrative functions could better serve pastoral needs", improve “the culture of communication and decision making in the Diocese of Hamburg and in the German Church".
She also aims to turn “the relative wealth of the [German Church] into an opportunity".
Members of Bishops committees
All these women are also “members of the executive bodies of their dioceses and the bishops’ councils", the DBK said in its statement.
And “many of them also bring their theological and pastoral competence to one of the fourteen committees of the German Bishops Conference".

German Bishops Conference Appoints Women as Pastoral Directors
By: Michael J. Matt | EditorLast week cruxnow.com reported that on Amoris guidelines, Brazil's conference of bishops is leaving sacraments open for divorced and remarried Catholics.
SÃO PAULO, Brazil - The Brazilian Bishops’ National Conference did not close the door that leads to the sacraments for divorced and remarried couples.
In a pastoral guide to Amoris Laetitia, the bishops said that, even though Pope Francis’s apostolic exhortation reaffirms the indissolubility of marriage, it also notes that “conditioning factors and extenuating circumstances” may “attenuate or even annul the moral responsibility and imputability of unlawful acts.”
The 28-page document entitled Welcoming the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia by the Church in Brazil was released late last week. It was elaborated by the conference’s staff after discussions of Francis’s document on the family during the bishops’ 55th Ordinary General Assembly, which took place April 26 to May 5, 2017.
Brazil’s bishops affirm that Francis’s apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitiaavoids a “normative pronouncement” on cases like those of divorced and remarried people. “The apostolic exhortation does not present a guide for the discernment of the so-called irregular cases,” says paragraph 37. Instead, Amoris “reinforces the need of a pastoral attention that is really particularized.”
The document argues that Amoris is not a rupture with previous Church teaching, but a development. “Nothing more contrary to the content of Chapter VIII of Amoris Laetitia than the idea of a moral relativism or even situational morality. On the contrary, it reaffirms the doctrine about the indissolubility of marriage and the intrinsic malice of adultery,” says paragraph 39.
As it follows, the text calls on pastors to “enter” in concrete cases, “finding the proper way to help the formation of the faithful’s conscience.” Read the rest HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: What more do people need to see? Francis destroyed Catholic marriage and nobody cares. They would rather have Church-approved divorce. And the "faithful" sit there and let their marriages get undermined by the man who claims the keys.
Brazil's Bishops Open Sacraments to Adulterers
By: Chris Jackson | Remnant ColumnistThe Daily Caller reports that Facebook and Google were “premier sponsors” for a left-wing protest last Saturday, which targeted a Human Coalition clinic for being “pro-life” and “successful”:
"Two of the most powerful companies in the world are co-sponsoring a protest against a pro-life women’s health care clinic that provides free medical services and counseling to pregnant women — just not abortions.
Facebook and Google are co-sponsoring Netroots Nation, an annual gathering of progressive activists and political leaders that is targeting a pro-life organization, Human Coalition, and the health care clinics they operate under the name Cura, which provide free medical services and counseling for women with unplanned pregnancies. The protest’s organizers claim two primary motivations for going after Human Coalition’s clinics: they’re pro-life, and they’re successful. (RELATED: ‘Betrayal’ — Left-Wingers Furious With Democrats’ Support For Pro-Life Candidates)
Netroots’ official agenda has the protest scheduled for Saturday at noon, immediately following one event featuring Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and shortly before another event featuring former Vice President Al Gore. Google and Facebook are listed as “premier sponsors” of Netroots, alongside far-left organizations like Planned Parenthood.
Saturday’s protest pits activists backed by two of the top four most valuable brands in the world against a small but effective organization that describes itself as both pro-women and pro-child.
Pro-abortion group Reproaction will lead Saturday’s protest against Human Coalition. Reproaction claims Human Coalition’s health center is a “fake clinic” because — unlike, say, Planned Parenthood — they don’t perform abortions. The protest is titled, “Get Fake Clinics Out Of Atlanta!” Read More HERE
