The Remnant Will Never Forget
The Remnant devotes this section of our exclusively to testimonies by those who lived through the revolution of the Second Vatican Council.
This page is reserved for those who saw what happened, or heard what happened from those who did, and who truly understand how Catholic families were blown apart. Visitors who have personal reflections, or memories of traditionalists pioneers, or reminicences of the revolution are encouraged to tell their stories and share their pictures here. . . so that we will never forget.
RTV Covers Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome
Remnant TV was in Rome this past week covering the Vatican’s clerical sexual abuse summit on the “protection of minors”. It seemed a dismal assignment, to be sure, but the reason it was necessary for The Remnant to be in the Eternal City was so we could throw in with our traditional Catholic allies in Rome who’d organized an act of formal resistance to the Vatican sham summit.
Going in, we all knew that the ultimate goal of the summit was to establish child abuse—not rampant homosexuality in the priesthood—as the main cause of a crisis in the Catholic Church which now rivals that of the Protestant Revolt. (Remnant TV coverage of this event as well as the Vatican summit itself, can be found on The Remnant’s YouTube channel, and for your convenience is laid out below:View items...

This just in from every major news agency in the country: Roy Moore, the "firebrand outsider", has defeated his rival, Mr. Strange, who was backed by Trump and the republican establishment. To highlight a few:
From the Washington Post: “Roy Moore Wins Alabama’s GOP Senate Primary… Alabama Republicans on Tuesday voted decisively to nominate Roy Moore, a former state Supreme Court judge, for a U.S. Senate seat, delivering a rebuke to President Donald Trump and the GOP establishment that supported his rival.” Finish the story HERE
From the New York Times: “In a race that began as something of a political afterthought and ended up showcasing the right's enduring divisions, the victory by Mr. Moore, one of the most tenacious figures in Alabama politics, will likely embolden other antiestablishment conservatives to challenge incumbent Republicans in next year's midterm elections.” Read this story HERE
From Fox News: “The winner of the runoff will become the favorite in December's general election against Democrat Doug Jones, a lawyer and former U.S. attorney during President Bill Clinton's administration. Jones is perhaps best known for prosecuting Ku Klux Klansmen responsible for killing four black girls in the 1963 bombing of a Birmingham church.
The winner of that race will complete the Senate term started by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and be up for re-election in 2020.” Read it HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: It should be noted that President Trump made it very clear that he would support Judge Moore if, in fact, he won this election, and that Luther Strange (Moore's opponent) did have the endorsement of the NRA and the NRL. Both candidates--Moore and Strange--spent the past couple of months tripping over themselves trying to prove their Trump cred.
So although the Far-Left loons at CNN are trying to spin this as a defeat for Trump, it must be said that this is without question a major defeat for the Far-Left. Ever since Judge Roy Moore came into the crosshairs of the notorious Southern Poverty Law Center well over a decade ago, he's been the punching bag for the pro-gay "marriage" crowd, the anti-Constitutionalists, the pro-aborts, the Ten Commandments haters and all the rest of the Christophobic legions.
But don't take my word for it. Let's go directly to Wikipedia in order to help us fully bask in the light of this monumental defeat for the radical Left:
Moore was elected to the position of Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in 2001, but removed from his position in November 2003 by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary for refusing to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments commissioned by him from the Alabama Judicial Building, despite orders to do so by a federal court. Moore sought the Republican nomination for the governorship of Alabama in 2006, but lost to incumbent Bob Riley in the June primary by a nearly 2-to-1 margin. He sought the Republican nomination for the office again in 2010, but placed fourth in the Republican primary.
Moore was again elected Chief Justice in 2013, but was suspended in May 2016, for directing probate judges to continue to enforce the state's ban on same-sex marriage despite the fact that it had been overturned. Following an unsuccessful appeal, Moore resigned in April 2017, and announced that he would be running for the United States Senate seat which was vacated by Jeff Sessions, upon his confirmation as Attorney General of the United States. He defeated incumbent senator Luther Strange in the September 26 Republican primary.
In the years preceding his first election to the state Supreme Court, Moore successfully resisted attempts to have a display of the Ten Commandments removed from the courtroom. The controversy around Moore generated national attention. Moore's supporters regard his stand as a defense of "judicial rights" and the Constitution of Alabama. Moore contended that federal judges who ruled against his actions consider "obedience of a court order superior to all other concerns, even the suppression of belief in the sovereignty of God."
After all the time and treasure the Southern Poverty Law Center spent trying to destroy this good man, it really does feel awfully nice tonight to congratulate the new senator from the great state (and home state of the SPLC) of Alabama. Well played, Judge. Obviously, he who laughs last laughs best. So laugh it up, Your Honor. God bless you.
Pope Francis embraces Lutheran "Archbishop" Antje Jackelén in Lund, Sweden
At every stage in the ecclesial crisis that followed the Second Vatican Council, the Mensheviks of the Neo-Catholic Establishment (NCE) have been there to defend the Bolsheviks of the post-conciliar revolution as they foisted one destructive novelty after another upon the Church. The NCE has found a way to defend or excuse the New Mass with all its officially approved abuses (including Communion in the hand and John Paul II’s approval of “altar girls”), the New Ecumenism, the New Dialogue, the New Interreligious Dialogue, the New Bishops’ Conferences, the New Collegiality, the New Seminaries, the New Convents, the New Ecclesial Movements, the New Evangelization, the New Synodal Church, and now, with Amoris Laetitia (AL), even the New Catholic Morality, which declares that God does not expect obedience to the negative precepts of the natural law, including the Sixth Commandment, if one feels unable to attain the “objective ideal” given the “concrete complexity of one’s limits” (cf. Amoris Laetitia, ¶ 303).
Cardinal Burke, who said in an interview with catholicoutlook.org that he privately celebrates the traditional Latin Mass, has also disclosed that the formal and public correction of Pope Francis is about to take place.
REMNANT COMMENT: He has to be careful or else he'll marginalize himself and he'll no longer be in a position to block Francis...
Sometimes I think back four decades to my college years. Between grad schools, I served as assistant to conservative writer and philosopher Russell Kirk in Mecosta, Michigan. Being a Southern boy, the one significant thing I recall about the climate up there was that we had snow on the ground—and lots of it—from around Thanksgiving all the way until April. So, other than my secretarial duties for Dr. Kirk I had I plenty of time to read (the Kirks had no television). And with Russell’s library of over 30,000 books I had a bibliophile’s cornucopia at my fingertips. Not only that, he was one of the most widely read of “teachers” a young grad student could ever have.

Father Ducaud-Bourget (center), accompanied by a thousand traditionalists, occupied the Church of Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet in Paris back in 1977... and never left.
REMNANT EDITOR’S NOTE: Each year before the beginning of the Chartres Pilgrimage (which kicks off in Notre-Dame-de-Paris, just around the corner from Saint Nicholas), we make a point to lead our pilgrims to this beautiful old Church, which now has a much-venerated bust of the late, great Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre at the rear. We pray that the spirit of the Archbishop and the saintly Monsignor Ducaud-Bourget will never be forgotten, and that the story of their courageous stand for the Old Faith will be told and retold to our children for many generations to come—at least until this Modernist nightmare is no more. MJM
A single tap of a priest’s knuckle upon the blackened mahogany arm of a choir chair signals the morning’s recitation of the Divine Office. The Roman-collared men gather in the sanctuary of Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet de Paris and raise the breviaries they hold in their hands and flip through the thin pages until each finds the day’s prayers.
Some people are worried about ISIS… The wardens of the famous shrine to Our Lady of Knock in Ireland are more concerned about the annual invasion of our little friends, the Society of Saint Pius X. Their Masses are SCARY conservative! From Ireland’s GodDoesNotDie.com:
Sept. 15, 2017/goddoesnotdie.com: The Society of Saint Pius X annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady at Knock in Co. Mayo was disrupted yesterday, Saturday 16th September, when Shrine officials refused entry to priests and laity.
Members of Knock Shrine Security approached the SSPX priests, informing them that they were not permitted to celebrate Mass or carry out any devotions as a group. They confirmed that these were the orders which they had been instructed to convey.
For the first time in over ten years, therefore, the Society was forced to celebrate Mass outside of the Shrine grounds (heretofore, for a number of years, SSPX priests had been granted permission to celebrate Mass in various chapels on the grounds of the Shrine). And, for the first time in the entire history of the SSPX’s presence in Ireland, the pilgrimage group was not even permitted to recite the Rosary or pray the Stations of the Cross within the Shrine precincts!
As a result, Mass was celebrated in the car-park of an obliging local café, and the Rosary was prayed on the Main Street which runs adjacent to the Shrine. Security was posted at the gates during the rosary procession, ensuring that the group did not enter the Shrine grounds at any time. READ MORE HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: This is a good sign. I guess the word's gone out that the SSPX isn't going along with Pope Francis’s Tradition-crushing schemes after all. So much for tolerance and the warm fuzzies.
A word of advice to the SSPX: Avoid Knock like the Potato Famine. Remnant Tours has made several pilgrimages to Ireland, but we always carefully avoid the modernist lunatics running that shrine. It's been that way for years.
When we return to the ‘land of saints and scholars’, we make it a point instead to walk the footsteps of Patrick to the top of nearby Croagh Patrick--one of most beautiful spots in Ireland, rich with historical connections to the fourth-century Saint who prayed and fasted on that holy mount for forty days before embarking on his mission to bring the old Faith to the Emerald Isle. It's far more Catholic than Knock, and there's a chapel at the summit where the TLM can be offered.
In the meantime, this is one Catholic tour company that will continue to spread the word far and wide to avoid the Shrine at Knock until the folks there return to the Catholic Faith.
For more on Croagh Patrick, here's something I wrote after climbing to the top of it back in 2006: https://www.remnantnewspaper.com/Archives/archives-2006-0630-pilgrimage06.htm
Too soon after the Capozzi orgy, the Pope who pledged “zero-tolerance for sexual abuse” may be sheltering a child porn addict in Vatican City, as this Associated Press report reveals:
VATICAN CITY (AP) -- A high-ranking priest working in the Vatican's embassy in Washington has been recalled after U.S. prosecutors asked for him to be charged there and face trial in a child pornography investigation.
The diplomat was suspected of possessing, but not producing or disseminating, child pornography including images of pre-pubescent children, a U.S. source familiar with the case said. The source was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The Vatican declined to identify the priest, but said he was currently in Vatican City and that Vatican prosecutors had launched their own probe and sought evidence from the U.S.
If the accusations pan out, the case would be a major embarrassment for the Vatican and Pope Francis, who has pledged "zero tolerance" for sexual abuse. The diplomat would be the second from the Vatican's diplomatic corps to face possible criminal charges for such crimes during Francis' papacy. And any trial in the Vatican would come as Francis' own financial czar, Cardinal George Pell, is on trial in his native Australia for alleged historic sex abuse cases.
The State Department said it had asked the Vatican to lift the official's diplomatic immunity on Aug. 21, and said the request was denied three days later. For the State Department to make such a request, its lawyers would have needed to be convinced that there was reasonable cause for criminal prosecution.
The circumstances that prompted prosecutors to make the request, however, weren't clear. The Justice Department, which would have brought any charges, didn't immediately comment, and the Vatican gave no details about what, if any, evidence had been provided to persuade it to recall the priest. REMNANT COMMENT: Dear God, how much scandal can Your spotless bride endure? In her human element, she has fallen into the hands of who would defile her to death.
While her enemies are legion who’ve been plotting her destruction for centuries, the fact remains that over the course of the past half-century the human element of the Catholic Church has gone from the most powerful institution in the world -- capable of influencing political elections in all four corners of the earth, forcing mighty cultural elites (such as Hollywood) to censor themselves, causing demons like Adolf Hitler to respect Vatican neutrality or face a worldwide Catholic backlash his stupid Reich couldn’t possibly handle, dictating Christocentric moral and cultural norms in nearly every society, sending armies of missionaries to build schools and hospitals and havens for the soul in far-flung precincts barely on the map. The Catholic Church has gone from that to a ghastly shadow of her former self, pathetically recalling her missionaries, closing her schools, shuttering her churches, and in her delusional state, even raping her own children while begging her secularist jailors for the freedom to breathe the air they control, ever since the signing of the Treaty of Vatican II.
Her priesthood is as decried for homosexuality and child abuse today as it was celebrated for chastity and education yesterday
Her liturgy is a "trivialized" (to use Pope Benedict's word) veritable talent show for wannabe actors and failed pop stars, while the new theology it supports is crayons and finger painting compared to what it was.
Where Aquinas and Augustine once nobly defended her colors, Father James Martin and Blaze Cupich now use them for sanitary tissues.
Where the majesty of her architecture once represented the very best of which man is capable, the landscape today is littered with what appear more like wayside restrooms than Catholic churches.
And all the while, our poor Church hemorrhages members by the millions into false sects, pagan cults or that grand army of worldwide atheism on the move.
It’s madness to refer to such devastation as a “new springtime”, and yet the asylum is now in the hands of the former inmates who insist on it.
When do we get to admit the obvious: that the Devil got over the wall at Vatican II, and that much of the human element of Christ’s Church today is either possessed or hopelessly insane?

Season 5 of The Remnant Underground kicks off with Michael Matt explaining why Christians going back to the catacombs here in 2017 is an idea with a 2000-year-old precedent.
By the way, what is a "Traditional" Catholic?
Plus, Bishop Robert Barron reviews Martin Scorsese's film, Silence, endorsed by Pope Francis and premiered at the Vatican. What Bishop Barron has to say about it is truly astonishing.
