The Remnant Will Never Forget

The Remnant devotes this section of our exclusively to testimonies by those who lived through the revolution of the Second Vatican Council.

This page is reserved for those who saw what happened, or heard what happened from those who did,  and who truly understand how Catholic families were blown apart. Visitors who have personal reflections, or memories of traditionalists pioneers, or reminicences of the revolution are encouraged to tell their stories and share their pictures here. . . so that we will never forget.

Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome

Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome (0)

RTV Covers Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome

Remnant TV was in Rome this past week covering the Vatican’s clerical sexual abuse summit on the “protection of minors”. It seemed a dismal assignment, to be sure, but the reason it was necessary for The Remnant to be in the Eternal City was so we could throw in with our traditional Catholic allies in Rome who’d organized an act of formal resistance to the Vatican sham summit.

Going in, we all knew that the ultimate goal of the summit was to establish child abuse—not rampant homosexuality in the priesthood—as the main cause of a crisis in the Catholic Church which now rivals that of the Protestant Revolt. (Remnant TV coverage of this event as well as the Vatican summit itself, can be found on The Remnant’s YouTube channel, and for your convenience is laid out below:

You know, there are times when I wish the real world were less like satire. I wrote the following fictional news piece as a joke with a friend, a fellow journalist, on Facebook as we were anticipating (still waiting, by the way) the official response from the USCCB on the ongoing revelations of the Planned Parenthood videos.

The appalling ghastliness of the videos revealing the world’s largest abortionist organisation’s baby-parts business, I felt, made the usual bland, boilerplate, bishopspeak rhetoric seem even more absurd and outrageous than usual. We were having a good (though somewhat grim) laugh, lowering, en-blanding and enfeebling the tone with each revision. Sorry if it seems an odd way of relaxing. Gallows humour is a well-documented phenomenon among journalists:

This from World Net Daily: "The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements. The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the basis of the April 4, 2014, DJJ Policy 912, which mandates full DJJ support of homosexuality and transvestism.

“With no evidence of any violation of DJJ policy on Mr. Wells’ part, his volunteer status was revoked by the Warren RJDC superintendent because he could not sign a state-mandated statement that homosexuality was not ‘sinful,’ among other things,” the letter said.

The policy states that DJJ staff, volunteers and others “shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.” Read more

REMNANT COMMENT: Counter-Christian or Christophobia is no laughing matter.  State by State, city by city, institution by institution-- at some point, if you hold Christian values, you will become a social pariah and subsequently put into a status place of rejection.  It may mean paying  fines or jail time as many an Operation Rescue Pro-Lifer can tell you; they have experienced the loss of their First Amendment rights and police brutality and you're next.   It may even go beyond Church, school and employment and it is certain to become the law of our pitiable land.

Christians need not apply; unless they sign a gag order. Welcome to the USSA (the United Sodomitical States of America)

What do you think the Catholic Church, that great representation of Christ’s body on earth, in Chicagoland is up to these days?

If you guessed implementing and then bragging about implementing the EPA’s Energy Star program, you were right. Congratulations.

Chicago Archbishop Blase J. Cupich is juiced about all things global warming that are happening in and around the Catholic Church these days. Now I don’t mean to single out this man, because he is one of many with similar views, yet his Excellency has been public about his exhortations. In an op-ed to the ChicagoSun-Times he tells us how joyfully he looks forward “to benchmarking and tracking” the “energy, water, and emissions performance” of the facilities under his care.

Senator James Lankford (R-OK) speaks about the Planned Parenthood video and their gruesome abortion practices on the Senate floor (July 16, 2015).  At one point he's moved to tears over the very thought of the horror of abortion.

When's the last time we saw a politician weep over the ghastly American baby holocaust?  And yet isn't that what's missing today-- tears? grief? a sense of repugnance and outrage over the sick and depraved people we’ve become, living in an “enlightened” society that thinks nothing of ripping babies in half in the name of some narcissistic and selfish "right to choose" what we want, when we want, where we want and how we want it?

God bless you, Senator.  Don't back down!
July 27, 2015, Fairfield, NJ - The American Catholic Lawyers Association announces its objection to the majority ruling in the case of  Obergefell v. Hodges regarding same-sex marriage.  Sodomy, as the Supreme Court itself observed in Bowers v. Hardwicke, before overruling itself a mere seventeen years later in Lawrence v. Texas, is immoral and perverse conduct that the U.S. Constitution was never intended to protect; and the Constitution is forbidden to transgress those aspects of the divine and natural law binding on all men and all nations. Nor was the Constitution ever intended to take away from the States the right to punish sodomy or to codify the truth of both divine and natural law that marriage is between one man and one woman.
How a neo-Catholic view of marriage and a misconstrued understanding of family have weakened the Catholic response to the aggressive expansion of gay marriage

It would not be an overstatement to argue that virtually every neo-Catholic has a faulty understanding of marriage. The view of our Novus Ordo friends has been perpetuated by a hopefully faulty understanding of St. Pope John Paul’s Theology of the Body propagated by hopefully well-intentioned popularizers of the Polish pontiff’s thought. The notion among the JPII generation of Catholics is that marriage is a passionate, extremely sexualized union between a man and a woman who via NFP parcel out a fair sized bundle of kids. Oddly enough (or maybe not so oddly) this misconstrued view of marriage has weakened the Catholic response to the aggressive expansion of gay marriage. Arguing that marriage is a loving union between a man and woman who are “open to life,” neo-Catholics have unwittingly abetted the triumph of gay marriage in America.
