The Remnant Will Never Forget
The Remnant devotes this section of our exclusively to testimonies by those who lived through the revolution of the Second Vatican Council.
This page is reserved for those who saw what happened, or heard what happened from those who did, and who truly understand how Catholic families were blown apart. Visitors who have personal reflections, or memories of traditionalists pioneers, or reminicences of the revolution are encouraged to tell their stories and share their pictures here. . . so that we will never forget.
RTV Covers Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome
Remnant TV was in Rome this past week covering the Vatican’s clerical sexual abuse summit on the “protection of minors”. It seemed a dismal assignment, to be sure, but the reason it was necessary for The Remnant to be in the Eternal City was so we could throw in with our traditional Catholic allies in Rome who’d organized an act of formal resistance to the Vatican sham summit.
Going in, we all knew that the ultimate goal of the summit was to establish child abuse—not rampant homosexuality in the priesthood—as the main cause of a crisis in the Catholic Church which now rivals that of the Protestant Revolt. (Remnant TV coverage of this event as well as the Vatican summit itself, can be found on The Remnant’s YouTube channel, and for your convenience is laid out below:View items...
Big News from Remnant TV...
His Excellency Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison, Wisconsin graciously apologizes to the Society of St. Pius X.
Will this stunning development finally end the schism mongers' ugly witch hunt?
Plus, Edward Pentin reports on an explosive dossier inside the Vatican that may mean big trouble for Pope Francis.
This weekend our nation celebrates Labor Day. The origins of this national holiday go back more than a hundred years, when many workers in factories and fields were grossly overworked and often underpaid. Since that time in affluent America the rights and dignity of workers have made significant advances, often through the intervention of government, which imposes worker-friendly standards upon employers. How ironic then that on this extended weekend, intended for the rest and recreation of laborers, this same government which claims to care about workers has now imprisoned one of its own public servants.
I am speaking of the county clerk in Kentucky, who sits in a jail cell over this three day weekend for the alleged crime of refusing to authorize and issue same-sex marriage certificates to homosexual couples.
Editor's Note: What follows is an article I wrote some 14 years ago while stranded in a hotel in New York City. We're posting it again today as a reminder to pray for all those who lost their lives on 9/11, and to recall how our nation turned back to God ever so briefly after that terrible day, only to abandon Him with an unholy vengeance in the days that followed. We were warned, it would seem, but we did not listen. One wonders what American will be 14 years from now, as our war against God, the family and the unborn now rages out of control and the threat of terrorism is as American as baseball and apple pie. NEW YORK (November 12, 2001)—I write these words from the twelfth floor of the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. Emergency vehicle sirens wail in the streets of Manhattan below my window. It seems that the city is crying again.
The television in my hotel room is on. I’m trying to learn more about the latest crisis to strike this poor city: an airplane—yet another American Airliner—has crashed into Queens. Over 240 passengers and crew are dead; nobody knows how many are dead on the ground where Flight 587 apparently exploded and plummeted into a residential neighborhood.
Join the worldwide remnant in prayer every day at 3:00 (Central Time), for the triumph of truth and the courageous princes of the Church over evil modernists who will do all in their power to thwart the Church’s infallible teachings on marriage and the family.
Specifically, for the defeat of the Kasper Proposal, let us pray…
The Traditional Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
O Most Glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in our wrestling against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places (Eph 6:12). Come to the aid of men, whom GOD created incorruptible, and to the Image of His own Likeness He made him (Wis 2:23); and from the tyranny of the devil He bought him at a great price (Cor 7:23).
"Rad Trad" chat about the dire warnings of Our Lady of Akita, Pope Francis green-lighting the SSPX priests to hear confession for one year (?) and other weird developments as the world braces for October's Schism on the Family.
By the way, Remnant TV (RTV) now has its own video platform here at RemnantNewspaper.com. Yes, we're gradually moving away from YouTube. But we will continue to post our videos on YouTube as we make the big move over to our very own Internet TV home. Thanks for your patience as we make this important transition.
"Oddsfish, Chuck! Let's just call it 'annulment' then..."
Early reports are in, and it looks like Pope Francis, as expected, has radically reformed the process by which Catholics may annul their marriages, streamlining steps that many liberals in the church considered too cumbersome.
The move is the latest in a series of public relations initiatives, whereby Francis hopes to make his pontificate appear more responsive to the needs of lay Catholics, especially those who have "long felt marginalized" by the hierarchy (READ: Don't like Catholic moral theology).
The three main changes announced on Tuesday are:
Laws may be unjust through being opposed to the Divine good: such are the laws of tyrants inducing to idolatry, or to anything else contrary to the Divine law: and laws of this kind must nowise be observed, because, as stated in Acts 5:29, "we ought to obey God rather than man." Summa Theologica I-II, q. 96, Art. 4
When St. Thomas Aquinas wrote these words over seven hundred years ago they were more theoretical than practical. Despite their failings, the rulers in the thirteenth century would never have dreamed of enacting laws that compelled direct violation of the divine law. We now find ourselves in a society in which increasingly law makers and judges think nothing of creating laws that require violation of the divine and natural law.
Fr. Bouchacourt, the Superior, the priests, and the brethren of the District of France confide to your prayers the repose of the soul of Mrs. Guy Fellay, mother of His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X, deceased September 3, 2015, on the feast of St. Pius X. The evening before she received extreme unction at the hands of her son.
Her funeral will be celebrated Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Econe by Bishop Fellay, and he will be presiding over her interment in the cemetery of Fully.
Some points on yesterday’s bombshell letter from Pope Francis validating SSPX confessions:
o First we were told the SSPX bishops were excommunicated and in schism, and their priests suspended and in schism.
o Then were told the bishops were no longer excommunicated, but still in schism—or kind of in schism—while the priests were suspended and in schism, or kind of.
o Then we were told that neither the bishops nor the priests were in schism, but only “lacking full communion,” with “no canonical mission in the Church.” The priests, however, are still suspended.
