OL of Sorrows
This Week’s Feature…

I beseech you, O Lord Jesus Christ, that the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose most holy soul was pierced in the hour of your Passion by the sword of sorrow, may intercede for us with Your mercy now and at the hour of our death.

AMEN

Michael J. Matt: Special Promotional Issue to 25,000 Prospective New Subscribers

Michael Matt introduces The Remnant to folks new to Tradition. He covers the history of this newspaper after the Second Vatican Council, the rise of the Catholic counterrevolution and the future of Catholic resistance to the Modernist regime.

Chris Ferrara to Debate Alan Keyes: October 11 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Resolution: Can Catholics in Good Conscience Vote for Either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.  Details in this issue of The Remnant

Christopher A. Ferrara, John Vennari, Michael Matt: With Burning Concern: We Accuse Pope Francis

50,000 views, with translations into 8 languages in less than one week? Not a bad start. Many, many people have had enough!

Patrick Archbold: The Most Radical of Traditionalists

So you’ve been called a “rad trad”, right? A “hater”? A person with a nasty tone? Kind of hurts, doesn't it.  Well, this one’s for you: an article by a recent convert to Tradition who’s encountered something else entirely—something wonderful.

John Rao, Ph.D.: Fighting the Papal Fetish to Win Back the Papacy

Okay, drop everything and read this! Here’s a quick rundown on the lessons history teaches on what Catholics actually believed about the pope and the papacy before the pope-worshippers took over. Oxford historian, Dr. Rao, uses history to dismantle Papolatry completely.

Hilary White: A New Assault on Contemplative Nuns

Why is the Vatican waging war on this front?

Lives of the Saints:
St. Olaf

This guy isn’t some plastic-banana saint who just hopped off a holy card. St. Olaf, King of Norway, decreed that Christianity must be the Faith of his kingdom, imported priests and bishops from England to catechize the masses, and didn’t take kindly to anyone, anywhere, disrespecting Christ the King. Lord, please send us another Olaf…soon!

Lost in the Fifties, Too:  On Harry Truman and Bertrand Russell’s Nonsense; Planned Parenthood; and Ridding the World of the ‘Catholic Menace’

Penned by the founder of The Remnant on May 24, 1951

Timothy J. Cullen: On Jupitrons and Demonic Obsession

So what’s with the cultural fascination with demons and exorcism? Is it for real? Or are we as a society simply becoming obsessed with Evil now that we’ve banished Good?

Catholic Heroes: Blessed Martyrs of Nowogródek

At a secluded spot in the woods about three miles from the town, these eleven nuns were machine-gunned to death and buried in a common grave. So why is nobody talking about these truly awesome Catholic women who volunteered to die so that others could live? Why is it so politically incorrect to recall the countless priests and nuns who were martyred by the Gestapo?

What Heretics Believe:   Hinduism: Karma, Reincarnation, and Cows

You into YOGA? Really? You’d better read this!

Vincent Chiarello: A Remnant Book Review…  The Path to Rome, by Hilaire Belloc

belloc
Here’s one teeming with old-world charm.

Lord Chesterfield: Famous Dad Gives Boy Words to Live By

In our brave new world of pornography, selfies, feminism and 24/7 self-promoting blogs and Facebook pages, the advice administered in this letter might as well be written in Sanskrit. But, man, is it spot on!

Michael J. Matt: This week at RemnantNewspaper.com

A Meme from the Mean:  "So you don't like our tone, eh?"

The Evening of Life Series: Old Age – The Ascending

This new Remnant series by Monsignor Baunard examines various aspects of the joys and trials of getting old. What’s the point of it all? Read this and find peace of mind.

Father Celatus: The Last Word… Donald Trump vs. Grandma Clinton: What Would Francis Do?

You have heard of the quaint question: “What would Jesus do?” (WWJD). I ask myself a different question before deciding and acting: “What would Francis do?” (WWFD). And then I do the opposite.

The Remnant Speaks Letters to the Editor—

-       The Green Pope and Mr. Ferrara

-       Time to Hang It Up, Grandma Clinton

-       An Open Letter to His Grace, Bishop Bernard Fellay

-       The Catholic Identity Conference
