It begins with Sunday
Easter Sunday, the high holy day of the Christian liturgical calendar, is just another day on the job. Worship has been uprooted and dismissed by the money changers. It’s not like this hasn’t happened before.

On 11 December 1925, Pope Pius XI promulgated his encyclical letter Quas primas, on the Kingship of Christ. The encyclical dealt with what the Pope described correctly as “the chief cause of the difficulties under which mankind was laboring.” He explained that the manifold evils in the world are due to the fact that the majority of men have thrust Jesus Christ and His holy law out of their lives; that Our Lord and His holy law have no place either in private life or in politics; and, as long as individuals and states refuse to submit to the rule of our Saviour, there will be no hope of lasting peace among nations. Men must look for the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ— Pax Christi in Regno Christi.

In his The School of Jesus Crucified, Fr. Ignatius of the Side of Jesus Passionist reflects on the insult that Pilate offered Jesus by comparing Him with Barabbas:

Caught and interrogated both by the KGB and SIB, he learned firsthand the techniques of Marxist totalitarian repression. This one-time chaplain to the Queen of England converted to the Catholic Faith and will speak at the Catholic Identity Conference 2024!

The main reference point of our lives, therefore, is the Cross. It is what helps us traverse the tumultuous ocean of the “world” like a lifeboat. It is what protects us from the fire of passions and vices through its fireproof qualities, similar to cork wood. At the same time, with the image of the monk tied to the mast floating at the mercy of the waves before our eyes, we understand that without it, we would sink immediately.

Consider that Christ’s terrible suffering on the cross was only the external manifestation of that far greater moral and spiritual suffering which only a divine, infinite person could have experienced or endured. His physical suffering is meant to lead us deeper into contemplation of the moral/spiritual suffering which was the price of our redemption. This was an infinite suffering by which only an infinite being could offer infinite atonement for the sins of mankind.

Another Glass Ceiling Shattered

There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church—which is, of course, quite a different thing.

In the book of Isaiah we find one of the most famous prophecies about the coming of the Messiah. The description is truly majestic: convoys of people, caravans of camels, treasures, and many people are coming. It’s as if crowds of people come to see the divine newborn, the Messiah, to give Him all their wealth. Here are the most spectacular verses:

“There ’s no one better than the trannies, y ’all, we are f****** everything!” Cecilia once screamed at a party. “I ’m asking all my trans people in the room, please, always, always terrorize cisgender people. Sometimes it doesn ’t take much, you just have to show up!”

In a recent post on his Facebook channel, Dr. Peter Kwasniewski expressed his indignation at the response given by Tim Staples on Catholic Answers to the question “why Francis hates the TLM and why he wants to get rid of it.” Here is what Staples replied:

Without the opportunity to defend Jesus from the Bad Thief’s insults, perhaps the Good Thief might have remained silent, without turning to Our Lord for mercy. Then, as now, God uses the wickedness of others to bring about the salvation of those who make use of His mercy.

I ask you to stop the scandal being given by personnel at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta ( cf. can. 212 §2-3 ). Two men are being given positions of prominence who claim to be women and are being addressed by incorrect names/pronouns.

If we seek that “real Paradise” on earth, we will find it beneath the Cross, with the Blessed Virgin Mary, suffering for Jesus. And if the saints could return from Heaven for anything, it would be to stand there with any of us who have the courage and wisdom to stay close to Our Lady of Sorrows.

This prayer to Saint Joseph was composed by Pope Leo XIII and was promulgated in his 1889 encyclical, Quamquam Pluries. This is the same pope who composed the well-known prayer to St. Michael the Archangel (“defend us in battle…”).
