Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome (0)
RTV Covers Vatican Sex Abuse Summit in Rome
Remnant TV was in Rome this past week covering the Vatican’s clerical sexual abuse summit on the “protection of minors”. It seemed a dismal assignment, to be sure, but the reason it was necessary for The Remnant to be in the Eternal City was so we could throw in with our traditional Catholic allies in Rome who’d organized an act of formal resistance to the Vatican sham summit.
Going in, we all knew that the ultimate goal of the summit was to establish child abuse—not rampant homosexuality in the priesthood—as the main cause of a crisis in the Catholic Church which now rivals that of the Protestant Revolt. (Remnant TV coverage of this event as well as the Vatican summit itself, can be found on The Remnant’s YouTube channel, and for your convenience is laid out below:

Are we to give a sigh of relief, or a cheer, that the Vatican seems finally to be noticing that Christians are being systematically wiped out en masse in the cradle of Christian civilisation? Or that they are telling the UN Human Rights Council that the use of force “may” be used as a “very last choice,” to defend them?

By: Michael J. Matt | EditorRemnant Editor’s Note: Back in February of 1973, the late, great French thinker, Jean Ousset—author of Action, the definitive guide to Catholic action—wrote a letter to a Catholic who having witnessed the auto-demolition of the Church in France, had lost his Faith. Originally written in French, Ousset’s letter was translated into English by Michael Davies who noted at the time that Ousset “depicts the current dark disorder as a call to action rather than a cause for despair.”This little known letter by Jean Ousset is as relevant today as when it was first published, perhaps more so, given that faithful Catholics in 2009 are subjected to a daily barrage of scandals and blasphemies never conceived of in 1973. Far from justifying despair in us, however, the darkness we see all around us is a subject for meditation, really—for action!—for as bad as things have become in Europe, the Americas and all across the world, we can see through Hell’s very refusal to give up the fight against the Cross that the triumph of Christ the King is inevitable. If through Catholic action we can keep despair at bay no matter how futile our efforts may seem, given the diabolical might of the opposition, we will see the triumph of the Immaculate Heart

By: Michael J. Matt | EditorBreaking News from Newsmax.com "Indiana Gov. Mike Pence made a political mistake and embarrassed himself by promising to amend his state's religious freedom law in order to defuse overblown charges that it sanctions anti-gay discrimination, Catholic scholar Brad Miner told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.
"Gov. Pence did himself no favors today by bowing to pressure from the left and from the gay lobby," Miner, senior editor of The Catholic Thing, told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner. "Because those are people who are never going to support him if he decided to run for president, and he lost a lot of people in the middle group." FULL REPORT HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: What a shock! If we can just vote more of these GOP heroes into office America will surely return to her Christian roots! Yeah, right! Again, the restoraiton of the Catholic Church is the only way out of here. Everthing else is stuff 'n' nonsense!

By: Michael J. Matt | EditorAccording to the Catholic News Agency: "A German cardinal has publicly opposed the words of two other German bishops who have suggested that the nation’s Church can form its own policies without direction from Rome.
"Cardinal Paul Josef Cordes published a letter earlier this month objecting to the pronouncements of prominent leaders of the Church in Germany that the nation's bishops' conference will pursue its own program of pastoral care for marriages and family regardless of the outcome of October's Synod on the Family.
"At a Feb. 25 press conference following the German bishops' plenary assembly, Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich and Freising, who is president of the conference, stated, “We are not a branch of Rome. Each conference of bishops is responsible for pastoral care in its cultural context and must preach the Gospel in its own, original way. We cannot wait for a synod to tell us how we have to shape pastoral care for marriage and family here.”" FULL CNA REPORT HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: Question: Are the German bishops and faithful allied with Cardinal Reinhard Marx in full communion with the Vatican, or just partial communion? And does it even matter anymore? Inquiring minds want to know.

By: Michael J. Matt | EditorSSPX claims and reopens St. James Church, once slated for destruction by the Diocese of Pittsburgh
An incredible saga endured by the parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ended in victory on Saturday, March 28, 2015 when Fr. Niklaus Pfluger of the Society of St. Pius X celebrated the Traditional Latin Mass before a crowd of 560 people in historic St. James Catholic Church in the West End of Pittsburgh.
Traditional Catholics began organizing to preserve the Traditional Latin Mass in the Pittsburgh area almost immediately after the imposition of the Novus Ordo Mass in the early 1970s. After celebrating Mass in various locations (including individuals’ basements and rented hotel ballrooms) the faithful purchased St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Chapel on the south side of Pittsburgh in 1977. This chapel was small but adequate for an extended period of time. The Society of St. Pius X acquired the apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima in 1991 and moved the celebration of the Mass to an old school building in Collier Township in the Pittsburgh suburbs. This location was larger but was not ideal for the celebration of the Mass.

It is with some regret that I must inform you that my employment as a contributing blogger at the National Catholic Register has been terminated.
Yup, they fired me.
I am grateful for the five years I spent as a contributor to the Register, the online presence of which has grown immensely during my tenure and that of the other original group of contributors. There is a lot to be proud of there. I stuck with them in hard times even when they were completely broke and it looked like they would blink out of existence, only to be saved at the last minute. Alas and alack, our time together has come to an end.
There are many things I could say about why this happened and how and maybe one day I will say more. But for now, suffice it to say that my particular contributions have not been well received over the last year or so and that has lead to increasing tension. READ FULL REPORT HERE
REMNANT COMMENT: By a strange coincidence, Mr. Archbold, we here at The Remnant are in search of an additional columnist. Perhaps you might consider taking a crack at ticking off a few of our readers or maybe even building up some real tension with our editors. In fact, I challenge you to give that a try! You up?

By: Michael J. Matt | Editor"This bill will keep Indiana from doing what Washington and Colorado are doing to their florists and bakers, which is to punish them for running their businesses according to conscience and Christian principle.
"But any effort to protect religious liberty in America now draws the withering fire of homosexual activists, who know that the only thing that stands between them and the total takeover of our culture is religious conviction. Therefore they must smash and obliterate religious liberty wherever it is found.
"Businesses such as Angie’s List are already canceling multi-million dollar projects in Indiana, conventions are being canceled, mayors in cities such as San Francisco have banned any taxpayer-funded travel to the state, Apple CEO Tim Cook is writing scathing editorials, Charles Barkley is condemning Indiana, and the NCAA and the NFL are rattling their sabers about punishing the Hoosier state for the crime of protecting the free exercise of religion.
"With the Final Four being hosted by Indianapolis this coming Saturday, expect things to be at fever pitch all week. Already, pro-family organizations that worked to pass this bill are getting death threats and Christian businesses are getting threatened too. We’re closer than most people think to our own Kristallnacht, in which Christian businesses could be trashed, vandalized and burned by radical anti-Christian bigots." Full Report at Barbwire
REMNANT COMMENT: When will Catholics wake up to what's really going on here--and to what's been going on in the Catholic Church for the last 50 years? True Traditional Catholicism has nothing to do with lobbying for "liturgical preferences". The old way of praying must be restored so that the old way of believing can be restored so that Catholics can grow a spiritual and moral backbone and once again begin to lead the world out of darkness and chaos.
The only force on earth capable of stopping the bloody crucifixion of the Mystical Body of Christ--that means YOU and your children--is the Catholic Church. There is only one moral authority in the world that comes from God and that truly matters, and that authority has been infiltrated by Modernists who are trying to make the Catholic Church palatable to a world that hates Christ. It's not working, it will never work, and it's time to abandon miserably failed policies based on the "spirit of Vatican II".
Please, wake up and stop defending the revolution. Understand what has happened to your Church. For God's sake and the sake of your children, return to the old Catholic Mass, reject the "new evangelization" which has only decapitated the authentic Catholic missionary spirit, and resist the ecumenical brainwashing designed to undermine all things Catholic.
Obviously, the world is in desperate need of a strong and restored Catholic Church but now, five decades after the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic moral authority has grown silent, the Catholic priesthood is awash in scandal, the Catholic Pope is refusing to "judge" and the Catholic liturgy is becoming increasingly ridiculous. Don't you see what's happened? As St. John Fisher put it, 'the fort is betrayed even by them that should have defended it.'
Time is running out. The only hope for the world is the Traditional Catholic restoration. Nothing else matters.
