David L. Sonnier, LTC US Army (Retired)

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) David Sonnier is a contributing author for The Remnant, a West Point graduate (Class of 1981), and a retired U.S. Army officer with over two decades of distinguished military service. A passionate advocate for the restoration of the Church’s venerable liturgical tradition, he is the author of the memoir "Rites and Wrongs: One Man's Struggle for the Latin Mass in the U.S. Army" (Os Justi Press), which chronicles his six-year battle against bureaucratic and modernistic opposition to secure the Traditional Latin Mass for military servicemembers. In addition to his military leadership, Lt. Col. Sonnier holds a deep background in academia, having served as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Lyon College and a founding faculty member of Catholic Polytechnic University. He remains actively engaged in defending Catholic tradition, serving on the advisory board of the Christendom Restoration Society, and bringing a soldier’s discipline and an unwavering sensus fidelium to the pages of The Remnant.
