It is never as bad as we think but a change is desperately needed.
An ABC News poll disclosed 86% of Americans believe that Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term as president. Such a percentage is certainly unprecedented. Many Americans want both men who are leading their parties’ nomination for the presidency to step aside and pass the torch to the next generation.
Rather, both are intent on throwing that torch – at each other.
So much for a smooth transition from one generation to the next like it was from Eisenhower to Kennedy. Today, Kennedy wouldn’t be welcomed at the Democratic National Convention let alone sitting atop of their presidential ticket.
Given how long the Biden’s have been trying to land on Pennsylvania Avenue since announcing his initial candidacy a generation ago in 1987, they will not simply walk away.
Knowing when to walk away is a virtue. It is impossible to maintain a free society without civic virtue. Putting the good of the nation and its institutions above one’s personal interests distinguishes not only a leader but a patriot.
Unfortunately, such virtuous behavior is something narcissists are vaguely familiar with as ego, power, and money serves to reinforce their credo, where walking away is simply impossible.
A president with a mite of introspection knows more worthy men lie in undeserved graves because they served their country first and not their own self-interest.
No matter what side of the aisle you walk your dog on, there is no argument that both candidates, and many politicians for that matter, fit the mold. When Dancing with the Stars has you on speed dial, you know it is time, but Jill Biden refuses to answer. There is no television program, no sports title, or no amount of money that can match the introduction of the president of the United States while the Marine Band drums up “Hail to the Chief.”
For you are the most powerful person on planet Earth – for now.
The perks are second to none and like any intoxicating drug very difficult to walk away from. Given how long the Biden’s have been trying to land on Pennsylvania Avenue since announcing his initial candidacy a generation ago in 1987, they will not simply walk away.
As his handlers know all too well, the less the voters see Brandon, the better. Biden is a fluke of history.
Brandon from Scranton and his bride never had it so good. For five decades he has scaled the political grease pole believing he is most qualified and destined for the presidency.
Biden’s cognitive and physical decline is impossible to dismiss, while his vanity will not allow him to acknowledge or concede that his time has passed. That, however, pales in comparison to his horrendous domestic and foreign policies that continue to circle the drain nonstop.
Out of compassion for her husband’s dignity and frailty, a loving wife would protect him. Perhaps Biden is deluded by his dementia, but there is no excuse for Jill who is the one person who could change the course of the Biden presidency. Jill, however, covets the title of First Lady and its genteel lifestyle – America be damned. You will have to pry the White House keys from her cold dead fingers.
Sitting out the annual softball-Super-Bowl-interview spoke volumes. It was a prime opportunity to knock the softball questions out of the park in front of the nation’s largest audience. As his handlers know all too well, the less the voters see Brandon, the better.
Barack Obama, when asked what he would miss most after leaving office replied, “Air Force One.” Where is an octogenarian going to get such a gig? Staying protects Biden’s kin and years leaching off the taxpayer accounts for his conceit.
Biden is a fluke of history.
To paraphrase Obama: Joe can screw everything up. And he has. While in the Senate, Biden was “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,” according to former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Today, Biden is a disorientated, unethical shell and a puppet for the left with a desire to amass wealth before, as Shakespeare understood, “He slips his mortal coils.”
Term limits would have put him where he belongs decades ago at Rehoboth trying to figure out how to open his beach chair.
