The Remnant Newspaper
Michael J. Matt interviews Dr. John Rao -- student of the great Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand and current president of the Roman Forum (founded by von Hildebrand) -- at the 2017 Summer Symposium on Lake Garda, in Italy. As plans for the 2018 Symposium are finalized, Matt asks Rao: What is this? What's it all about? What’s the overall impact of this major traditional Catholic event that now features top notch professors, activists, writers, Vatican journalists, bishops and priests and participants from all over the world. This video is being posted as an accompanying feature to a new RemnantNewspaper.com article by Dr. Rao detailing plans and speakers for the 2018 Summer Symposium.

Father traces the history of Advent observance and tradition, with a special emphasis on the Second Coming of Christ. Plus, Father speaks of a Traditional Catholic Marine who died last week at the age of 26. Father uses this young man as an example of what it means to "put on the armor of Christ."

Please keep in mind that it was not my intent to “grill the bishop”. I have known him for some time and have come to respect him more than I can say. It was my intent to assist our readers and friends around the world to get to know this most courageous churchman—a man of faith and deep appreciation for the traditions of Holy Mother Church.

With the Shrine's New Masses all celebrated ad orientem and the TLM no stranger inside of her walls (several high-profile Traditional Latin Masses having taken place here already) -- --this is one of the bright spots in the post-conciliar Church. Please God, may it continue to advance in the direction of traditional Catholic restoration -- the only hope of the whole world.

This Week's Featured Article... Some Pros and Cons of SSPX Regularization by Michael J. Matt
If Pope Francis really wishes to offer a no-strings-attached regularization, what’s holding him back? The total vindication of Archbishop Lefebvre’s historic stand for Catholic Tradition is at hand. Could that be what Pope Francis is worried about now?
Total vindication at hand?
Basil Cole: St. Joseph: Protector of the Christian Family
Insofar as Joseph was part of the hypostatic order of things (the Incarnation of the Word in some way depended on his consent, protection and guidance as well as Mary’s), he cooperated in our redemption since the Incarnation was for our salvation and only makes sense in the light of the paschal mystery of his Son, whom he prepared for the redemptive act.

Vince Chiarello: Orthodoxy: By GK Chesterton
It is apparent to many that what they sought, the glorification of the Catholic Church, seems a bit quaint to the modern Catholic, but in their directness, “Old Thunder” and GKC recognized the eternal truths, and would not allow being accused of “bad manners” change their objective.

Catholic-bashing is nothing new. From the Quebec Act of 1774 onward, there has been an anti-Catholic bias in this country that explains much of the rampant Christophobia we see today.
